  • You will serve as a professional advisor to assist companies achieve their goals or streamline operations in a particular area of the business, such as IT Operations, Cloud Infrastructure, and cost.
  • You will lead and manage client engagements, advising at the highest strategic level on how FinOps enables cloud cost governance and business benefits realization.
  • You will lead a team of associates and technical resources to deliver on customer engagements and ensure the customers objectives and outcomes are being met.
  • You must be ambitious, innovative, and personable, with exceptional leadership qualities, to play a critical role in our Kyndryl Consult Practice as we grow.
  • Your leadership must embody the vision and understanding of thinking financially, technically, and creatively.
We are looking for financial experts with direct experience in Cloud Cost Management.What youll do:Principal Consultants help clients through the three components of FinOps – Advise, Optimize, and Operate, plus the core principles to deliver upon sustainable cost controls and realize business value. The FinOps Consultant introduces clients to unique insights, industry frameworks, and transformative thinking that encourages them to create the culture of their companys FinOps capabilities in collaboration with Kyndryl and Kyndryl’s partner ecosystem.Based on industry understanding and empathy, you will co-create, accelerate, and drive adoption toward optimizing what the client spends and uses in the public cloud. You will guide customers through the process to continue their iteration on their own over time. Principals are responsible for end-to-end opportunity ownership and working with other Kyndryl resources to support deal closures and deliver in complex, cross-practice deals.As a FINOPS Consultant, you will play a critical role in leading a team to define, design, develop, and deliver FinOps services, workshops, and engagements.
  • Be an active leader and play a vital role in the end-to-end client engagement, deliver consultative working sessions, develop a shared understanding of current capabilities, and advance their FinOps maturity. Work with executive stakeholders from IT, Procurement, Finance, Engineering, Development, and Line of Business to develop requirements and success criteria aligned with the company objectives and goals.
  • Business Development and Relationship Management: Develop and maintain relationships with key client stakeholders; experience originating deals with C-level clients; lead pursuit teams; participate and lead the proposal development process; contribute to proposal shaping and pricing strategies.
  • Practitioner Development: Perform the role of counselor and coach; provide input and guidance into the staffing process; actively participate in staff recruitment and retention activities.
  • FinOps Strategy: Lead internal and external teams to develop a high-level road map of the clients FinOps practice. Determine the to-be model and create a gap analysis to identify opportunities to improve the clients overall FinOps strategy and capabilities.
  • Lead and Facilitate service engagements by conducting customer interviews, helping conduct workshops and working sessions, and creating customer presentations and deliverables.
  • Seeing the big picture with the ability to start small and guide customers with strategic, technical, and cultural understanding to continue their innovation independently.
You will reinforce a growth mindset and relish opportunities to use familiar and unfamiliar technologies, techniques, and processes. You will embrace FinOps and Cloud Economics practices and contribute to growing and improving our services at Kyndryl.Through cross-functional collaboration, you will also expand your business and consulting skills through interactions with technical and non-technical colleagues and customers. Finally, you will be an active learner, identifying new or better ways to deliver impact with people and technology.What youll bring to the table:This roles broad scope of responsibility requires a solid understanding of business and technology strategy, change management, and a principled approach to transformation challenges and opportunities. Our consultants know their customer industries, business, and how Kyndryl can help drive their transformation toward cloud financial governance. They also share a standard set of characteristics – such as strong leadership and people skills – and bring the experience that drives innovation and customer value.
  • Bachelors degree in finance, computer science, computer engineering, information science, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 5 years experience consulting in Cloud Advisory & IT Financial Services or Operational Experience with Cloud Cost Governance within an IT Organization.
  • Consulting Experience or Influential Thought Leadership / Ownership within IT Finance and Public Cloud Consumption and Reporting
  • Experience and working knowledge of cloud native cost management tooling and/or third-party cloud management platforms (CMP)
  • Startup mindset and growth mentality
  • Ability to apply adoption and change management ideas and experience to increase program success
  • Results-driven and goal-oriented
  • Analytical Thinker with solid communication and collaboration skills
  • Demonstrated, applied experience establishing and delivering complex projects
  • Passion for presenting, training, teaching, with a strong work ethic and positive attitude (preferred)
Certifications
  • FinOps Certified Cloud Practitioner certification (preferred)
  • Cloud certifications (AWS, Azure, Google)
  • ITIL (v3 and up)
  • TOGAF (preferred)
  • Lean IT
  • Six Sigma
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
  • University graduated in Computer Science, Information Technology, Telecommunications, Electronics & Electricals or any other related field.
Preferred Technical and Professional Experience
  • Must have:
    • Graduate/University graduated in Business, Management, Analysis, Computer Science, Information Technology, Telecommunications, or any other related field.
    • Working knowledge and practice of the following frameworks
      • Business Analysis Body of Knowledge (BABOK)
      • Business Process Model and Notation (BPMN)
      • The Open Group Architecture Framework (TOGAF)
      • Lean Six Sigma
      • DevOps
  • Nice to have:
    • CBAP or PMI-BA Certification
    • TOGAF Certification
    • ITIL Certifications
    • Lean Six-Sigma Certification
    • COBIT Certification
