Job Description

Trico LivingWell:Trico LivingWell is a new older adult living community opening in Summer 2022 in Kingsland, Calgary. It is Canadas first Older Adult aging-in-place community pursuing the vigorously vetted WELL v2TM Certification from International WELL Building Institute – a premier framework and performance-based system for buildings with features that advance human health and well-being worldwide. Trico LivingWell offers a campus of care and services to independent living, assisted living, and dementia care accommodations respectful to individual rights, choices, needs, abilities and enjoyment.Job Summary:Reporting to Executive Chef, Food and Beverage Administrator is responsible for cost management, scheduling, inventory, co-ordination of staff hires, sanitation and safety for front of the house (FOH) & back of the house(BOH). This position oversees both the FOH and BOH staff.Key Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing for both front of house (FOH) & back of house (BOH) personnel
  • Responsible for creating schedules for FOH and BOH staff.
  • Assists in hiring, reviews, training and disciplinary actions as required
  • Identify potential areas of conflict; and initiate ways to improve current business methods, quality of products and services to the customers
  • Counsels, coaches and mentors to help promote department goals
  • Purchasing of food items, ordering and maintaining Kitchen, FOH, BOH supplies and equipment
  • Ensures Sous Chef and FOH are compliant with safety sanitation protocols, procedures.
  • Works with Chefs with menu changes, on-going paperwork, food costs
  • Coordinates inventory and manages inventory processes for bartender
  • Assists on the floor or in the kitchen as needed.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of two years of experience as sous chef or equivalent
  • Basic knowledge of kitchen equipment and procedures, safety and sanitation
OR
  • the equivalent Post-secondary education in Hospitality Management and two years of FOH experience
  • Candidates with two years of managing FOH and BOH staff would be considered an asset
  • Knowledgeable in corporate and compliance regulations, and communicate with little or no additional direction.
  • Previous experience and knowledge of budget analysis methods, general accounting skills, menu writing and the skills and the ability to work in all areas of the kitchen and front of the house.
  • Applicant must have valid Food safe handling certification.
  • Current (within 6 months) Police Clearance and Vulnerable Sector Screening;
  • All applicants who receive an offer of employment must be eligible to work in Canada. Proof of eligibility must be current and valid (not expired, cancelled or voided)
