Trico LivingWell:Trico LivingWell is a new older adult living community opening in Summer 2022 in Kingsland, Calgary. It is Canadas first Older Adult aging-in-place community pursuing the vigorously vetted WELL v2TM Certification from International WELL Building Institute – a premier framework and performance-based system for buildings with features that advance human health and well-being worldwide. Trico LivingWell offers a campus of care and services to independent living, assisted living, and dementia care accommodations respectful to individual rights, choices, needs, abilities and enjoyment.Job Summary: As the primary contact with our guests, a server takes orders and delivers food and beverages. This position provides support for the setup, preparation, and serving and clean up associated with all meal or event services. The area of responsibility includes dining areas, event space and private resident deliveries. The server is responsible for all transactional requirements including billing and payment processing for our resident guests and clients.Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare tables for meals, including the complete set plates, silverware, glassware
• Perform light food duties including bread, salad, appetizers and dessert preparation.
• Greet guests in a professional and friendly manner. Provide education about the food and beverage menus, daily specials, how menu items are prepared, and the ingredients are used and different cooking methods.
• Check food and beverage for quality and presentation before serving each guest
• Deliver wine to table with appropriate glassware and demonstrate proper wine service techniques
• Receive guest payments and process payments clear and clean tables promptly accordingly to proper sanitation standards
• Complete side duties as required including polishing silverware, glassware etc.
• Assist in catering and special occasions theme event functions
• Assist in set up with any buffet function set up and break down
• Monitor hydration stations

Qualifications:

• Valid Food Handler’s Certification is required
• Familiar in operating various mechanical devices such as POS systems, coffee machines, mixers, light kitchen equipment, dishwasher, etc.
• Must be fluent in both written and spoken English, other language proficiencies will be considered an asset
• Current (within 6 months) Police Clearance and Vulnerable Sector Screening;
• All applicants who receive an offer of employment must be eligible to work in Canada. Proof of eligibility must be current and valid (not expired, cancelled or voided)
