Trellis is committed to empowering individuals and communities with the support they need to grow beyond life's challenges and reach their dreams.Community Fundraising & Donor Engagement AssociateThe Fund Development Team at Trellis is seeking a passionate, fund development professional to support community fundraising and facilitate dynamic engagement opportunities for our donor community.Are you looking for a fun, challenging and meaningful opportunity to flex your hospitality, event management and organization muscles Then the Community Fundraising & Donor Engagement role is designed for you!What you'll do as the new Community Fundraising & Donor Engagement Associate at Trellis:As part of a fast-moving, collaborative team, you will bring curiosity and creativity to the table, where you will be encouraged to make new friends for Trellis and invite community support through the avenues of third-party fundraising, gift-in-kind donations, and community engagement/volunteerism.You are passionate about hospitality and eager to invite generosity through authentic relationship building for Trellis. You find joy in helping people feel welcome in both physical and virtual environments, supporting community members who are fundraising on behalf of Trellis, and coordinating community and volunteer engagement opportunities. You have an eye for ease of process and creating a quality experiences for both donors and frontline colleagues who need goods to serve Trellis program participants. And you see all of these things as an opportunity to build professional skills, while strengthening an intricate community of support that meets people at some of life's most challenging intersections.Key responsibilities:Establish and implement procedures to ensure fundraising events held on Trellis' behalf align with Agency mission and vision and are tracked and recorded.Respond to public enquiries about community fundraising events, and ensure interested parties have the support they need to deliver on their fundraising initiative.Prepare packages to assist community supporters with fundraising events.Support community members to use Trellis third-party fundraising software to create customized fundraising pages for their fundraising efforts.Work with program staff to develop and deliver engagement opportunities for corporate and group donors, creating meaningful and fun relationship building. (i.e. Virtual lunch & learns, group landscaping/painting events, etc.)Represent Trellis at community fundraising events.Actively engage with program team colleagues to understand, catalogue, and acquire donated goods to support program delivery.Act as a point of contact for Trellis, responding to public enquiries about gifts-in-kind and redirecting gifts that are not suited to Trellis operations.Manage donation process for gifts made at third-party events and ensure donor records are up to date.Coordinate gift-in-kind donation processing centre, including organization, volunteer management, gift receiving and recording gifts as directed by Donor Database Administrator.Liaise with Donor Database Administrator, providing event details for database record keeping.Coordinate volunteer engagement and required information such as scheduling, police checks, photo release, confidentiality agreements and so forth.What you bring to this role:Curiosity, enthusiasm, innovation, and a passion for building donor relationships through stewardship, storytelling, and community engagement.New ways of approaching community fundraising that embrace entrepreneurial thinking.A degree or other post-secondary education in Fundraising, Event Management, Hospitality Management or Volunteer Management is considered an asset, though not a requirement. Proof of relevant skills and experience, combined with a willingness to learn and grow is essential.A desire to create intentional impact through your work; the courage to go beyond what seems doable and prove that growth is possible every day.Knowledge in the following areas will be helpful, but are not required for candidate consideration:Knowledge of social media platforms to support community member's fundraising initiatives.Knowledge of AGLC raffle and gaming policies is an asset. If no experience, training is available.Familiarity with CRA guidelines related to donations and basic gift acceptance policies.Knowledge of Raiser's Edge, or working knowledge of other fundraising or customer relationship management databases is considered an asset.Knowledge of JustGiving or other third-party fundraising tools is an asset, but not a requirement.Excellent interpersonal, communications and networking skills with the ability to work independently.Experience using Microsoft Office apps like Outlook, Word, Publisher, Excel, and Forms.Willingness to learn new skills and software platforms.Valid Alberta driver's license and access to a vehicle.Ability to be flexible, working occasional evenings and/or weekend events.You are ready to work in a collaborative, face-paced and fun environment that encourages you to be authentic, friendly, creative, and courageous.Reporting Structure:This role reports to the Director of Philanthropy.There are no direct reports to this role, however the the Community Fundraising & Donor Engagement Associate will support the recruitment, organization and support of volunteers for various projects throughout the year.____________________________________________This job advertisement is intended as a summary of the primary responsibilities and qualifications for this position.
