Job Description

Labourer job summary Wildcore Construction Inc. is a new up and coming residential construction company in the Calgary and surrounding area and is looking to restructure the perception of working in the residential construction industry. To achieve this goal, we are looking for a crew of efficient, safety-minded foreman and labourers to help bring our vision to life. We offer both seasonal and long-term positions for the right candidates in a variety of positions. We also offer a consistent work schedule and industry competitive pay.The ideal candidates will be capable of working with minimal oversight but willing to follow directions closely. Additionally, he or she should be familiar with construction industry safety standards and procedures to ensure project success.Labourer responsibilities and duties The responsibilities and duties of this position include but are not limited to:

  • Lift heavy loads up to 70 lbs and navigate construction job site terrain
  • Dig post holes, trenches, and tree holes in preparation for job site construction
  • Operate heavy machinery (skid steer/excavator), including construction vehicles
  • Identify utility lines and all unsafe work conditions
  • Perform setup and cleanup tasks at job site
  • Back-fill trenches and holes when necessary
  • Provide labour support as needed for project components
  • Perform general maintenance of construction equipment.
Labourer qualifications and skills A successful candidate should posses the following general qualifications and skills. Applicants with special skills, such as hardscaping, concrete prepping and machine operating are in high demand.
  • High school diploma/GED preferred but not required
  • Class 5 drivers license and vehicle to get to and from a job site.
  • 2+ years’ construction industry experience preferred
  • Basic understanding of construction principles and procedures
  • Ability to operate skid steer and mini excavators preferred
  • Comfort working in an outdoor environment with possible weather fluctuations
  • Industry specific training in paving stones/retaining walls/concrete is considered an asset
Winter EmploymentThe right candidate will be able to stay with the company year round and join our crew of hardworking and dedicated snow removal techs. This position includes:
  • On call snow removal (night and daytime shifts available)
  • Guaranteed hours every two weeks.
  • Snow machines to make snow removal efficient and easy
  • Time off during periods of no snow and after major snow events
  • Site construction work should weather allow it
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent, SeasonalContract length: 12 monthsSalary: $20.00-$27.00 per hourAdditional pay:
  • Overtime pay
Schedule:
  • 10 hour shift
  • 8 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday
Experience:
  • landscape construction: 2 years (preferred)
  • Snow removal: 1 year (preferred)
