Please note the shift is Monday to Friday from 3:30pm to 12:00am (depending on department end time may be 11:30pm with same end time but a paid lunch break) with potential overtime in busy months.Job purposeOff-loaders play a critical role in our glass manufacturing process. You will work safely with the Off-load team to sort, tag and move all outcoming glass product from various departments. You will check every piece to ensure it meets quality standards prior to loading and preparing for transport and report any issues to the Lead Hand or Supervisor for correction.Duties and responsibilitiesBecome part of the team by communicating positively with lead-hand, co-workers, and supervisorEnsure all equipment is in safe operating condition including daily PPE checksUnloading glass will require crane operation and/or manual lifting of no more than 75lbsMeasure tempered glass for accuracy and quality; reject if incorrect and advise operator accordingly to uphold quality standardsAdhere tags to completed glass and place on distribution dolly based on tag location requirementsSelect the appropriate tagged glass and load onto dolly by size and dimension to ensure all safety policies and procedures are followedUse appropriate glass separators for glass type to maintain quality controlHelping at the load end of the furnace and in Swiping when requiredRole will include multi-tasking in the department and cross training in different functionsCommunicate dolly completion and move throughout the plant as requiredResponsible for proper disposal of broken glass and general housekeeping within the departmentOperate a forklift as requiredQualificationsPositive attitude with team orientationWillingness to learn new things and cross train in new areasResponsive to change in priorities and immediate demandsEntry level positionMaximum manual lifting requirement of up to 75 lbsWill provide all training as requiredWorking conditions & Physical requirementsMust be able to consistently lift up to 75 lbs at plant locationBe able to maintain composure in a continuously changing environmentBe able to remain in an upright position for long periods of timeDaily and/or weekly overtime required, not to exceed statutory legislationWhat CRH Americas Offers YouHighly competitive base payComprehensive medical, dental and disability benefits programsGroup retirement savings programHealth and wellness programsA culture that values opportunity for growth, development, and internal promotionAbout CRH AmericasCRH Americas has a long and proud heritage as one of North America’s largest corporations.
