Previous experience in a metal fabrication shop is not required, however a basic knowledge and ability to use small power tools such as angle grinders and hand drills is a necessity.Work Schedule: We are seeing candidates for DAY and NIGHT shifts; you will work 12 hours shifts rotating 5x days on and 3x days offDuties: · Perform general tasks as assigned by Supervisor· Handle materials – within the shop and outdoors as required· Assisting various machine operators in setup; moving materials in and out of the shop using overhead hoist and forklift· Operate basic hand tools and powered hand tools.· Operate various equipment as described in company procedures· Perform work safely and follow established work procedures· General shop cleaning· Adhere to health, safety and quality policies, as well as all company policies andprocedures· Participate in training and safety meetings· Other duties as requiredCompetencies· Able to meet deadlines and do so safely· Mechanically inclined, ability to use small hand tools and/or power tools· Attention to detail· Team player· Strong aptitude to understand drawings· Good verbal and written communication skills· Able to follow and understand both oral and written instructions in EnglishQualifications/Requirements· Grade 12 or GED – additional education past high school would be an asset· Manufacturing and forklift/overhead crane training or experience an asset· Good physical fitness· Stand or walk for long periods of time· Use arms and hands to reach for, handle or manipulate materials· Lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 lbs, lift items weighing more than 50 lbs withassistance from other workers, forklift and/or overhead hoist· Exposure to fine dust and airborne particles, high noise levelPay: Pay is dependent on experience. This position is eligible for overtime pay, and total compensation is greater than $65,000 when OT is factored into earnings.
