Job Description

General Support Specialist - Part TimeCome and join the Heart of Excellence! We are looking to recruit a part-time General Support Specialist for our Kingsland Terrace Centre in Calgary, Alberta.We offer work/life balance, competitive wages and benefits, scholarship opportunities, and much more!The General Support Specialist (GSS):is responsible for the preparation and service of customer meals and nourishment, for the provision of quality laundry services, as well as supporting the Housekeeper in the provision of quality cleaning services to provide a clean, safe, and aesthetic environment for the facility’s customers.Job Duties:

  • Responsible for assisting in the preparation and service of customer meals and nourishments
  • Follows policies and procedures, menus, and work routines.
  • Ensures a safe and sanitary work environment.
  • Works in partnership to improve the performance of individuals, teams, and the organization in providing improved customer service for residents, guests, and staff.
Location: Kingsland Terrace Supportive LivingPosition Type: Part Time / Permanent 0.70 FTESchedule: 2 pm to 7 pmSalary: $19.21 per hourQualifications:
  • Food Safe Handling Training certification. (the full 1-day course is essential)
  • Knowledgeable in the use of commercial laundry equipment.
  • Knowledgeable regarding the use of cleaning equipment and supplies.
  • Ability to read, write and comprehend English.
  • Mentally and physically able to perform duties as outlined including physical activities such as standing, walking, bending, stretching, and lifting heavy objects. Must be free of allergies or related conditions, which may be aggravated by working with detergents, soaps, and chemicals regularly, used within the scope of the position.
  • Demonstrates effective communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrates concern and interest in providing quality care and service for residents.
  • Ability to function as an effective team member with other staff, residents, families, and the public.
