If you’re a person who gets excited about data and appreciates the importance it plays for a successful Geographic Information System (GIS) implementation we have an opportunity for you.We need a strong spatial data administrator to help our transformation from an on premise solution to one that will leverage Azure cloud technology. With your progressive spatial data experience, you will be a part of an established GIS team that has a diverse professional experience.Minimum Requirements:

  • A diploma or Bachelor degree (GIS or geography major is preferred)
  • 5+ years of progressive spatial database and data focused delivery, including data modeling
  • Competent SQL skills and experience with Oracle and SQL Server
  • Understanding of GIS principles and unique data aspects of all GIS geometries, including linear referencing
  • Proficiency in the use of Environmental Systems Research Institute (ESRI)’s ArcGIS suite of products for solving spatial problems
  • Previous use of Feature Manipulation Data, ArcGIS Server, Geocortex, Python, Microsoft SQL Server, and Oracle is an asset
Responsibilities:
  • Develop and monitor Feature Manipulation Engine (FME) Server processes
  • Provide guidance to GIS team members on data loading best practices
  • Maintenance of system health via monitoring scripts
  • Liaise with IT on database patching and troubleshooting activities
Location and other key details:
  • You will work out of our Calgary head office, located in the Suncor Energy Centre at 150 – 6th Ave S.W.
  • Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday, with the potential for extended work hours based on business needs
