Job Description

McMan Youth, Family and Community Services Association of Calgary & Area is a responsive and innovative organization making a difference in the lives of more than 2600 vulnerable children, youth and families annually.We support children, youth and families with complex needs that can include mental health issues, addictions, homelessness, poverty and disability by providing them with the services and supports they need to thrive. As a fundamental practice across all McMan services, we work with individuals to help them maintain and grow relationships that can extend beyond our professional support - lifelong connections that can help people sustain and build on, their strengths and new skills.In partnership with Christ the Redeemer School Division, McMan is looking to hire a Mental Wellness Facilitator (MWF) for a two-year contract. The Mental Wellness Facilitator will liaise with Christ the Redeemer Student Services, school personnel, mental health services, and families to identify and meet the complex mental health needs within our communities. Through a facilitated process the learner, family, and school will develop and implement a plan that supports the learner in continuing their participation in school and provides safety and prevention planning to address mental health concerns.This position, located out of Okotoks will be required to travel to the communities of Brooks, Drumheller, Strathmore, Canmore, Oyen, High River, De Winton, and Okotoks. This position requires flexibility as some eveningwork is required.The successful candidate possesses:· A Diploma/Degree in Human Services· Knowledge of mental health needs and resources· Strong facilitation skills· The ability to build and maintain community partnerships· Understanding, experience and desire to work with high needs youth· Competency in the areas of assessment, program planning and case management· Strong writing, organizational, program planning and interpersonal skills· A Valid Driver’s license and adequate insurance coverage· A Police check and Child Intervention Record Check (current within six months)Christ the Redeemer Catholic Schools is a large and fast-growing organization providing high quality education.McMan offers a solid offering of an extensive benefit plan, generous time off allowances, and the opportunity to contribute to the community at large.
