Your Opportunity:The Healthy Places Manager is a key leadership role in the Healthy Settings Department of Promoting Health, Provincial Population and Public Health, and reports directly to the Director - Healthy Settings. This position is provincial in scope and accountable for: making key decisions and providing direct leadership in establishing and contributing to the goals and activities of Healthy Settings and Promoting Health; collaborating with teams across Healthy Settings, as well as Promoting Health, and leading the scale and spread of provincial Healthy Settings initiatives to workplaces, communities and in future to health services, virtual and home settings across Alberta; working closely with the Manager of School Health and Wellness Promotion to seek integration opportunities within and external to Promoting Health; providing leadership on how to align resources and identified priorities with internal and external partners; aligning logic models, evaluation plans and key performance indicators across Healthy Settings teams as needed.Description:As the Healthy Places Manager, you will have a broad understanding of the Social Determinants of Health, Risk and Protective factors that influence health within Community and Workplace environments (Health Services, Virtual and Home in future). You will set priorities based on the assessed health trends and lead a multidisciplinary provincial team in the scale and spread of evidence-informed, population health promotion strategies to improve health outcomes. You will maintain collaborative partnerships with both internal and external content experts and partners to influence policy change, leverage resources, increase capacity and ensure the planning of effective, coordinated, efficient province-wide core population health programs related to Community and Workplace (Health Services, Virtual and Home in future). You and your team will scale and spread guidelines, strategies and policies through the Healthy Places Website in collaboration with zone Health Promotion Facilitators and other provincial programs. You will liaise with provincial and zone teams to develop relationships and leverage opportunities for collaboration. You will function as a settings expert consultant to internal and external partners influencing the development and implementation of Community, Workplace, Health Services, Virtual and Home programming across the province. You will plan, allocate, and manage physical, human, and fiscal resources for the Healthy Places team, and assess resource requirements to meet program delivery needs and priorities. You will provide management and oversight of the evaluation for the Healthy Settings initiatives. You will engage in knowledge development and exchange, evaluation, continuous quality improvement and innovation to continually evolve this area.
