Job Description

Your Opportunity:The HIM Downtime and Recovery Practice Consultant is a single point of contact for downtime and recovery activities, who assists in coordination and management of downtime and disaster work streams. Please Note: This position works predominantly days but will need to work Connect Care Downtime occurrences, planned or unplanned.Description:The incumbent requires a specialized skill set that includes both technical and business knowledge, who works with all HIM domains/departments to do proactive downtime and recovery planning, including: HIM representative in discussions or activities related to HIM Business Continuity Access (BCA) technical applications including: BCA PC. BCA WEB. BCA WDE. SRO. Develops a Communication strategy for prior, during and after scheduled downtimes, liaising between HIM business, IT and Provincial Downtime Working Groups. Creates, updates and/or amends forms, manuals, procedures and checklists including: Training content, training plans, materials, practice packages, readiness and focused downtime weeks. Develops virtual downtime and recovery training tools. Contributes to the HIM Provincial Downtime process document and the Registration downtime toolkit. Development, distribution and maintenance procedures. Creation, distribution and maintenance of: DT MRNs, CSNs (Master & Zone). DT Anonymous Naming (Master & Zone). DT Newborn Naming (Master & Zone). DT Face Sheet. Maintains the Downtime ADT Tracking Sheet. Chair HIM Bridge Calls with an HIM Operations Lead. Develops a scalable strategy for management of regularly scheduled and non-scheduled/unplanned outages. Develops the concept of HIM Downtime Chair for HIM Bridge Calls. Develops the concept of HIM Downtime Lead for each site.

Required Qualifications:A minimum of Bachelor degree in Health Informatics/Health Information Management or other healthcare related business degree. Successful completion of an HIM program certified by the Canadian Health Information Management Association/Canadian College of Health Information Management with active credentialed status preferred. In depth operational and technical experience with provincial ADT, Registration and Admitting systems, i.e., Netcare, Connect Care, Meditech, Clinibase, SCM, Axon, as well as experience utilizing AHS Health Information Management downtime and recovery work streams. Intermediate to Advanced MS Office Skills including Excel, PowerPoint, Visio and SharePoint. A minimum of 5 years in a healthcare analyst-related role, ideally in an organization of significant size, complexity and diversity. Knowledge of principles and practices of health information management, Health Informatics, medical terminology; legislation and regulations related to medical records content, privacy, release, and retention. Ability to understand operational and workforce issues, and to communicate effectively with a broad variety of people at different levels within the organization and with different skills and expertise.Additional Required Qualifications:As Required.Preferred Qualifications:As Required.Quick Apply
