Job Description

We currently have one casual opportunity for a Housekeeper position at our Aspen community.Shift hours would be 7:30 am to 4:00 pm or 10:30 am to 7:00 pm.Find meaningful work with seniors.Enjoy working on a high-performance team while making a difference in the lives of independent seniors.Choose to work at one of our many communities across Calgary.Benefit from flexible hours, healthcare coverage and a pension plan.Reporting to the Housekeeping Supervisor/Community Manager, the Housekeeper is responsible for the overall cleanliness and safety of the community during their shift.Key responsibilities include:

• Responsible for the daily cleaning of resident units including bed-making, linen and towel change.
• Responsible for the laundry and cleanliness of all common areas and flooring.
• Responsible for the overall security and safety of the community and residents during the assigned shift
• Resolves any emergency situations which may arise and completes all paperwork and follows procedures as required
• Reports any safety issues to the Community Manager and is knowledgeable in emergency procedures and can act accordingly
• Required to travel between all communities to relieve other housekeepers on vacation or extended leaves of absence

Desired qualifications:

• Minimum of 1-year experience into housekeeping/room attending experience is essential.
• Must possess a high standard of hygiene and personal appearance.
• Good Communication skills and excellent customer service skills, Pleasing attitude and the ability to relate to seniors.
• Must have Food Handling course, WHMIS, and First Aid or willing to take.
• Basic computer skills.

Additional Requirements for Casual Staff:

• The successful candidate has availability of at least 4 days per week and indicates those days and time upon hire.
• Must be willing to work multiple roles and provide coverage where required.
• Must be willing to work in multiple communities.
