Job Description

IntroductionAs a Tapestry Collection Hotel by Hilton, The Westley Calgary Downtown Hotel is Calgary’s newest boutique hotel with a modern take on Calgary’s wild west roots. Located in the heart of Eau Claire, the hotel is slated to open in early June 2021. We are currently looking for dynamic people to join our team! In fact, we are recruiting for a Housekeeping Attendant!The Housekeeping Attendant performs routine duties in the cleaning and servicing of guest rooms and bathrooms under the supervision of the Executive Housekeeper or Housekeeping Supervisor. The Housekeeping Attendant is expected to promote a positive image of the property to guests and must be pleasant, honest, friendly, and able to address guest requests and problems. The Housekeeping Attendant must be the kind of person who appreciates high standards of excellence!We serve up outstanding accommodations and service with a twist of unconventional charm. If you feel you have the background and a proven skill set that fits the bill, we invite you to apply.Duties and ResponsibilitiesReporting to the Executive Housekeeper, the Housekeeping Attendant will:

  • Work closely with the Executive Housekeeper and the Housekeeping Team to ensure every guest room is cleaned according to Hotel standards;
  • On a daily basis, responsible for cleaning assigned rooms, which includes but is not limited to making beds and changing bed linen, dusting/polishing furniture, vacuuming, sweeping, moping, cleaning bathrooms and replacing towels and amenities;
  • NOTE: This role requires working an average of 2 overnight shifts where a variety of Housekeeping duties are performed, including public spaces, laundry and organizing supplies. A premium is paid for overnight shifts;
  • Actively listen and respond positively to guest questions, concerns and requests using brand or property specific processes to resolve issues, delight and build trust;
  • Anticipate guests' service needs, including asking questions of guests to better understand their needs and watching/listening to guest preferences and acting on them whenever possible
  • Assist with cleaning public areas of the Hotel when needed to meet the needs of the operation;
  • Use proper equipment, wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and use correct lifting procedures, as necessary to avoid injury;
  • Perform other duties as assigned by manager.

Job Requirements
  • High school diploma/G.E.D. equivalent;
  • At least 1 year of guest service and/or housekeeping experience. Experience working in Housekeeping is a definite asset;
  • Experience using industrial cleaning equipment and products;
  • Brings an appreciation for high standards of excellence, everyday;
  • Ability to read, write, and verbally communicate effectively and professionally with other departments, guests, and vendors.
  • Ability to work with little or no supervision while meeting high-performance standards;
  • Organized and proven experience prioritizing tasks;
  • Ability to follow instruction;
  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment-maintaining composure and objectivity with guests and team members;
  • Available to work nights, weekends and/or holidays as required, including occasional Manager-On-Duty shifts.
