Your Opportunity:The data protection environment consists primarily of CommVault, various Dell/EMC and NetApp storage arrays with disk-based snapshot capabilities combined with site-to-site replication. These environments protect over 5000 hosts, located across the province in six mid-sized hospitals and four large colocation facilities. AHS has approximately 25PB of storage running on PowerMax hosting critical environments, Isilon for archive and NetApp running CIFSs & NFS to over 110,000 users. This is a dynamic environment with hundreds of health care “business” units requesting services from the data protection team on a regular basis. As Data Protection Admin (Analyst I) you will need good people skills to deal with clients, peers and other IT teams within AHS. You will deliver essential services to AHS with respect to data protection services by monitoring overall health including daily backup jobs and backup targets, remediating issues, perform recovery of files for fileservers, databases and hosts within the predefined business timelines for regular operations and disaster recovery. To be successful you will need good analytical, problem solving, root cause analysis and critical thinking skills related to data protection. Organizational and planning skills will be an asset in this role.Description:As an IT Analyst I, you will provide technical support for system(s), subsystem(s) or technologies within a specialized team or service area in accordance with AHS standards and practices.
