Currently Alberta Health Services is looking for an IT Analyst II to join the Meditech Application General Lab Support Team to provide day-to-day support for Meditech’s existing lab clients. The IT Analyst will be required to efficiently analyze, problem solve and collaborate with operational clients. The IT Analyst will also rely on proven communication skills to gain cooperation and build trust with a variety of stakeholders. The skills will include the ability to research and present solutions as well as effective writing skills in the documentation of SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures). In order to respond efficiently to a range of application requests and meet service level agreements you bring hands on experience troubleshooting, testing, configuring and integrating support of order/result data. The successful candidate will actively participate in on-going support and development with respect to Meditech applications, including after-hours call.Description:As an IT Analyst II, you will provide technical support related to information technology applications either directly to users of the systems or to service delivery functions. You will ensure reliable operations of information systems, resolve complex technical problems, find solutions to customer needs, and lead projects and program initiatives. You will be responsible for more advanced application, telecom or technology support duties. You will investigate, diagnose, and resolve complex problems that have typically been escalated several levels before assignment to this position, and will translate business requirements into technical requirements for a solution and recommend a potential approach to the vendor. You will analyse the solution provided to ensure that it fits both technical requirements and business needs. Experience building relationships with business counterparts.Preferred Qualifications:Experience working with Meditech and ancillary systems with dependencies on external data sources. Knowledge of business systems analysis and problem resolution. Experience translating and documenting business needs into computing solutions and application configuration. Experience with Healthcare Information Systems including Meditech EMR (Electronic Medical Record), NetCare and My Health Portal, Lab Instrument Interfaces, and integration utilizing HL7 messaging. ITIL Certification.
