Job Description

Your Opportunity:The eCritical Business Intelligence (BI) & Application Development (AD) Analyst is a member of the Information Management (IM) team and is responsible for developing and supporting eCritical legacy applications(e.g., .Net, Apex, VB.Net etc.), reporting and analytics solutions. Works collaboratively with a Business Analyst to analyze applications, reports and analytics requirements, design and develop solutions to meet the needs of eCritical Alberta. The successful candidate works independently with minimal guidance to develop, maintain and support reliable provincial analytics system and legacy applications for TRACER. Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex problems applying industry best practices and clinical policies/guidelines is required. A risk taker who applies new perspective on existing information technology systems to find solutions to address customer/business needs. This position will ensure deliverables are consistent with eCritical TRACER architecture that enables critical care units achieve their business objectives. Provides expert advice on legacy applications, reporting and analytical issues.Description:As an IT Analyst II, you will provide technical support related to information technology applications either directly to users of the systems or to service delivery functions. You will ensure reliable operations of information systems, resolve complex technical problems, find solutions to customer needs, and lead projects and program initiatives. You will be responsible for more advanced application, telecom or technology support duties. You will investigate, diagnose, and resolve complex problems that have typically been escalated several levels before assignment to this position, and will translate business requirements into technical requirements for a solution and recommend a potential approach to the vendor. You will analyse the solution provided to ensure that it fits both technical requirements and business needs. You will also spend time on project or initiative leadership and delivery.

Required Qualifications:Completion of bachelors degree in Computer Science or Information Technology or equivalent.Additional Required Qualifications:Advanced knowledge and experience with critical care applications and environment. Proficient in application development, business intelligence and data analytics. Advanced experience in application development tools (e.g., .Net, Apex, VB.Net etc.) or similar. Experience with a variety of business intelligence and analytics tools, advanced SQL programming in mixed environments (e.g., UNIX, Windows) is required. Strong analytical, problem solving, interpersonal, organizational and communication skills required. Ability to gain cooperation of a variety of stakeholders, including management, clinicians, physicians, and coworkers. Knowledge of linkages between processes of healthcare delivery and technology. Ability to set and meet personal deadlines and adapt to changing priorities. Ability to work independently, in a team environment and experience in coordinating teams. Ability to write technical, business, and procedural documentation. Knowledge of established industry best practice relating application development, analytics and business. Self-motivated, goal oriented and ability to work with minimal supervision.Preferred Qualifications:Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a health-related field. Certification in application development tools (e.g., .Net, Apex, VB.Net etc.) and analytics tools (e.g., Tableau, R, SAS, Python etc.).
