We collaborate with partner agencies, governments, organizations, and community advocates, to help immigrants and refugees build thriving lives in our community.Immigrant Services Calgary helps over 10,000 newcomers each year, connecting them to programs and services to unleash their potential.Our Vision: Unleashing the economic, social, and civic potential of clients.Our Mission: Connecting newcomers to the right service at the right agency every time.The Position:Reporting to the Director, Information Systems, the IT Manager is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and configuration of a variety of IT systems to effectively support ISC’s organizational needs. This role focuses on optimizing the use and implementation of Information Technology services while streamlining IT business processes and workflows. An important part of this role is ensuring the reliable operation of computer systems and network equipment as well as identifying and resolving hardware or software related issues.Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Act as an escalation point for the technical support team, ensuring availability of services and systems.
  • Oversee day to day IT operations.
  • On Premise and cloud infrastructure oversight and standardization, including Office 365 environment, VMWare, Microsoft Azure, and AWS infrastructures.
  • Develop and maintain IT vendor relations.
  • Manage inventory purchases related to IT assets, upgrade agency’s equipment as needed.
  • Install and configure computer hardware, software, systems, networks, printers, and other devices.
  • Monitor and maintain computer systems, network, performance, and data security. Respond promptly to security or usability concerns.
  • Develop and implement IT policy and best practices for ISC.
  • Maintain technical documentation by documenting hardware and software changes and revisions, providing reports as needed.
  • Design and build web applications to streamline business processes and workflows
  • Administer Microsoft Active Directory, including setup accounts, reset password, and manage group membership.
  • Provides expert level technical support for VoIP system.
  • Define IT team resource needs; hire, train, and coach team members to provide efficient support and service to the organization.
  • Develop and manage IT program annual budget and any project budgets as required.
  • Research new technology based on ISC program needs.
  • Update hardware and software asset inventory.
  • Provide technology training to users.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Post-secondary diploma or university degree in computer science, or other relevant discipline
  • 3 years of experience in system administration
  • Proven competency in monitoring, maintaining, and optimizing computer systems, security, network and systems administration, databases and data storage systems, and phone systems
  • Strong work ethics and organized
  • Strong knowledge in Microsoft Active Directory, Microsoft Office 365, Microsoft Azure, and AWS
  • Proficient in Microsoft SharePoint, Microsoft PowerApps, Microsoft Flow, and Docker
  • Some computer programming and data analytic experience preferred
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office suite
  • Comfortable working with Windows, Linux, and MacOS operating systems
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
  • Fast and independent learner, willing to listen and learn
  • Confident, dependable, adaptable, flexible, honest, self-reliant and team player
  • Detail and quality orientated
  • Good oral, written & interpersonal skills
  • Cultural sensitivity
  • Second language is an asset
  • Ability to work remotely and onsite as required
