Job Description

AGAT Laboratories is a full-service laboratory with locations across Canada. We are the most diversified laboratory in Canada. Our scientists are highly-skilled and specialized in the fields of biochemistry, chemistry, microbiology, geology, engineering and other specialty services. With a broad range of staff experience and state-of-the-art instrumentation, we provide cross-analytical solutions for the Environmental, Energy, Mining, Transportation, Industrial, Agri-food and Life Sciences sectors.Summary:AGAT Laboratories is currently seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented SCAL Lab Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting a variety of special core analysis experiments, maintaining laboratory equipment, and ensuring data accuracy and integrity.AGAT is a leading provider of advanced reservoir characterization services to the energy industry. Our state-of-the-art SCAL lab is dedicated to conducting cutting-edge research and analysis to optimize reservoir performance.Duties:

  • Conduct a range of SCAL experiments to evaluate reservoir rock properties
  • Operate and maintain SCAL laboratory equipment
  • Demonstrate strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Utilize various shop and hand tools for SCAL experiment setup and sample preparation
  • Contribute to a safe and organized laboratory environment
  • Compile, verify and validate accurate data records
  • Perform basic analysis.
  • Report results.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Post-secondary education with a Chemical degree/diploma or equivalent experience
  • Previous work lab experience is an asset, training will be provided
  • Strong English communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Attention to detail with good organizational skills
  • Basic computer skills
  • Team player with the ability to work in a positive manner in a fast paced environment
Work Environment: This position requires a person to stand, sit and lift throughout the shift in a laboratory environment. Manual dexterity is required to perform repetitive tasks.
