Position: Labourer Foreman - CanmoreProject Type: Commerical - Nordic CenterProject Location: CanmoreShift: DaySchedule: 5 and 2Accommodations: Local OnlyTravel Details: Not AvailableGC: GrahamAllied Partner: Jasper Constructors Ltd.Reference Number: 17860Position Summary:Possesses the full range of knowledge to work in the construction industry. Participates in and performs some of the more difficult labourer tasks. Supervises and train and instruct new employees.Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Inspect facilities and installations and report any discrepancies to supervisor.
  • Plan and schedule work for the group ensuring proper distribution of assignments and adequate manning, space, and facilities for subsequent performance of duties.
  • Prepare reports and risk analysis, making appropriate recommendations or conclusions.
  • Monitor workmanship and performance of subordinates by inspecting projects assigned to them.
  • Review for accuracy the written work of others (time cards, mileage sheets and work reports).
  • Identify and correct hazardous or unsafe areas and then report to supervisor.
  • Demonstrates understanding of hand signals, and awareness around all equipment on a construction site.
  • Demonstrates protocol for using radios.
  • Set up and coordinate fueling equipment and refuel equipment.
  • Set up and coordinate propane heaters.
  • Conduct safety meetings.
  • Recognize hazardous materials.
  • Install safety fences and railings.
  • Identify appropriate tools for necessary task.
  • Handle all power tools.
  • Use skill saw, drills, sawzall, concrete vibrator, compressor, jackhammer.
  • Self motivated to review items on site such as fence, openings, securement of materials etc.
Non-technical Requirements:
  • Ability to understand customer needs and provide quality service that fulfills customer expectations
  • Knowledge of the organizations industry, trends, directions, major issues, regulations and products.
  • Understand how to identify individual personalities and has the ability to apply soft skills to maximize the employee potential. Knows the approaches, tools and techniques for working with individuals and groups in a constructive and collaborative manner.
  • Ability to motivate and guide individuals and teams in learning and improving on quality production.
  • Practice spoken and written delivery of opinions and ideas to achieve a goal and listens to others ideas and feedback.
  • Knowledge of approaches, tools and techniques for prompting creative, original thinking and applying it to existing and emerging situations.
