Job Description

Labourer job summary Wildcore Construction Inc. is a new up and coming residential construction company in the Calgary and surrounding area and is looking to restructure the perception of working in the residential construction industry. To achieve this goal, we are looking for a crew of efficient, safety-minded foreman, operators and labourers to help bring our vision to life. We offer both seasonal and long-term positions for the right candidates in a variety of positions. We also offer a consistent work schedule and industry competitive pay.The ideal candidates will be capable of working with minimal oversight but willing to follow directions closely. Additionally, he or she should be familiar with construction industry safety standards and procedures to ensure project success.Foreman responsibilities and duties The responsibilities and duties of this position include but are not limited to:

  • Lift heavy loads up to 70 lbs and navigate construction job site terrain
  • Ensure site is running safely and efficiently
  • Read site plans and delegate tasks to other individuals onsite
  • Operate heavy machinery (skid steer/excavator), including construction vehicles
  • Identify utility lines and all unsafe work conditions
  • Perform setup tasks at job site
  • Provide support to landscape labourers as needed for project components
  • Perform general maintenance of construction equipment.
Foreman qualifications and skills A successful candidate should posses the following general qualifications and skills. Applicants with special skills, such as hardscaping, concrete prepping and machine operating are in high demand.
  • High school diploma/GED preferred but not required
  • Class 5 drivers license and vehicle to get to and from a job site.
  • 5+ years’ construction industry experience preferred
  • Understanding of construction principles and procedures
  • Ability to operate skid steer and mini excavators preferred
  • Comfort working in an outdoor environment with possible weather fluctuations
  • Industry specific training in paving stones/retaining walls/concrete is considered an asset
  • Ability to read and execute construction site plans
Winter OperatorWildcore Construction is looking for the ideal candidate to transition from fall landscaping projects into winter snow removal. The ideal candidate would be willing to transition from site foreman to winter operator in either a plow truck or skid steer. Previous experience as a winter operator will be given preference.
  • A clean drivers abstract will be required to operate plow trucks.
  • Must be willing and able to work through the night when required.
  • Provide support for hand crews when plowing not needed.
  • Flexible schedule on non snow days
  • Guaranteed hours from the start of snow season to the start of spring landscape season
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent, SeasonalContract length: 12 monthsSalary: $25.00-$35.00 per hourAdditional pay:
  • Bonus pay
  • Overtime pay
Schedule:
  • 10 hour shift
  • 8 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday
Experience:
  • Landscape construction: 5 years (preferred)
  • Plowing: 2 years (preferred)
