  • Collects soiled linens and personal laundry from user areas.
  • Sorts, washes, dries and folds linen and residents’ personal clothing.
  • Distributes linen and residents’ clothing to user areas.
  • Performs minor mending and ironing services as required.
  • Applies identification labels to all personal clothing and linens.
  • Follows policies and procedures and work routines.
  • Reports unsafe, hazardous working conditions and any equipment malfunctions to their supervisor.
  • Performs other duties as required.
Qualifications/Skills/Job Requirements:
  • Brings a caring, compassionate and empathetic approach.
  • Ability to read, write and comprehend English.
  • Mentally and physically able to perform duties as outlined, including physical activities such as standing, walking, bending, stretching, mopping and lifting heavy objects. Must be free of allergies or related conditions which may be aggravated by work with detergents, soaps, and chemicals regularly used in the department.
  • Knowledgeable regarding the use of laundry equipment and supplies.
  • Demonstrates concern and interest in providing quality care and service for residents
  • Demonstrates effective communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to function as an effective team member with other staff, residents, families, and the public.
