Job Description

We are looking for an individual that has a passion for French food, or has a desire to learn, and wants to join a team of fellow culinary enthusiasts.ABOUT USPurlieu is a modern French Bistro in the suburb of Oakridge owned by two local chefs with a background in fine dining and French Cuisine. We opened in 2019 and have been cooking away ever since!DUTIES

  • Must be willing to work evenings as well as weekends and holidays based on the business needs.
  • To consistently create a positive overall guest experience by preparing and producing food that meets quality, presentation, portion and safety standards with the standardized recipes and daily function requirements
  • Responsible for preparing and producing food items a la carte.
  • Adheres to the standard order timelines expected
  • Reorganizes refrigerators, re-stocks items up to par, reorganizes section for next meal period
  • Operates all kitchen equipment as needed for food preparation while keeping safety in mind at all times
  • Maintains established food rotations in storage in order to minimize spoilage and waste.
  • Minimizes wastage and optimizes leftovers
  • Receives and stores supplies as required.
  • Maintains the cleanliness and neatness of the kitchen, freezers, storage areas and equipment
  • Knows and adheres to all health and safety, accident prevention and emergency procedures for all the areas of the restaurant and hotel

  • Shows passion for Guest Service and experience
  • Hard Working; enjoys being physically busy and active
  • Demonstrates organization and multi-tasking abilities
  • Friendly, enthusiastic, honest, reliable and confidential
  • Offer courteous and sincere hospitality at all times and “deliver great guest experiences.
  • Food Safe certification; extensive knowledge of food handling and sanitation standards
  • 2 -3 years’ experience in a high-volume restaurant
