Job Description

Maintenance TechnicianOur client is an industry leader in Food Production and they are currently seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join their team at the South East facility in Calgary. This position is responsible for the installation, repair, and maintenance of packaging machinery by interpreting drawings, assembling parts, and performing layouts.   • Journeyman or Red Seal trade certification is well-regarded.
  • 5+ years of electrical and mechanical experience would be preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in a production environment dealing with high-speed machinery is preferred.
  • Experience with TiG welding.
  • Ability to read and troubleshoot operating manuals as well as other forms of written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to write routine reports and communicate effectively, written and verbally.
  • Ability to interpret graphs, and perform basic math calculations like ratios and percentages.
  • Physically capable of standing/walking for an entire shift, occasional climbing of stairs and frequently lifting up to 25 lbs.
  • Comfortable in an environment that includes regular exposure to moving mechanical parts, and continuous and constant noise (hearing protection is provided).
  • Complies with relevant safety regulations (company policy, WHMIS, wearing PPE).
  • Available for the night shift of 9:30 PM – 6:00 AM from Sunday to Thursday.
Responsibilities include:
  • Troubleshoot and perform electrical repairs.
  • Troubleshoot and repair machinery and equipment.
  • Read blueprints and schematic drawings to determine control logic for machinery.
  • Maintenance of equipment including cleaning, lubrication, and testing.
  • Assemble, dismantle, and move machines and equipment.
  • Assemble and install equipment such as conveyors, pumps, motors, and load cells.
  • Electrical installation as required.
  • Complete maintenance work orders.
  • Make appropriate recommendations to improve / repair machinery.
  • Other duties as assigned.
