Your Opportunity:Reporting directly to the Executive Director of the Indigenous Wellness Core (IWC), the Manager of Calgary and South Zones is a key leadership role within the IWC. The manager, Calgary & South provides leadership and support to the Executive Director for the planning, development, implementation and supervision of Indigenous Cultural support services and operational priorities and actions. The manager will work closely with Zone Operations and support the Executive Director in development, design and implementation of service delivery models, operational policies and procedures, and quality monitoring standards. The Manager will supervise Zone Senior Advisors during their engagement and partnership with Indigenous peoples and communities as they work together to establish priorities and identify potential service gaps or improvement opportunities and assist in developing strategies to obtain client/patient feedback and designing and implementing improvement plans. The Manager will set direction and resolve problems in collaboration with zone operations and IWC medical leads at the zone level, developing implementation strategies and initiatives required to support operational plans. The Manager will make decisions guided by policies, procedures and the IWC business plan that impacts the level of service and the ability to meet performance objectives for areas of responsibility. In addition to direct management of Zone Senior Advisors, the Manager is accountable for management and supervision of Indigenous Cultural Support Staff in Calgary and South Zones.Description:The Manager – Calgary and South Zones will work closely with the Executive Director and the Manager – Edmonton and Central Zones to direct and support Zone Senior Advisors in ensuring effective operational planning, development, and implementation of the AHS Indigenous Health Commitments. The Manager will provide strategic analysis and recommendations on developing and setting Provincial Standards, implementing strategies and operational policies and procedures while working collaboratively with the Executive Director and key internal and external stakeholders. The Manager will work in partnership with Indigenous peoples and communities and AHS Zone leadership to ensure zone operational plans reflect and address Indigenous peoples health needs and outcomes. In partnership with the Executive Director, the Manager will shape the directions and strategies that impact health outcomes to reduce health inequities experienced by Indigenous peoples. The Manager oversees the development and implementation of zone/facility/service operational business plans that have an impact on Indigenous Health through Senior Advisor support and recommendations, while working collaboratively with other AHS Portfolios/Divisions in the implementation of their business plans with a focus on the full continuum of care for Indigenous people. Minimum of 5 years experience working in Indigenous Health or fields with direct engagement with Indigenous populations. Minimum of 3 years related Health care senior professional or leadership experience with experience managing teams. Significant history working effectively with Indigenous communities and multijurisdictional partners. Effective communication with strong organizational skills, people-focused orientation and commitment to providing quality services; effective in demonstrating the use of diplomacy, facilitation and negotiation. Leadership skills, including demonstrated ability and comfortable with decision-making, coaching and teaching, and demonstrated ability to inspire and build confidence in others.Additional Required Qualifications:Extensive practical experience in the development of organizational strategy, policy and program planning/management.
