Visit cpr.ca to see the rail advantages of CP.PURPOSE OF POSITIONReporting to the Director Locomotive Reliability & Systems, the Manager of Locomotive Reliability is responsible for ensuring that reliability sciences is applied to locomotive maintenance activities. The manager should take pride in overseeing the successful execution of significant technical undertakings to help improve processes and drive positive changes.The manager must develop effective asset strategies, management, and solution of bad Actors, repeaters and network service interruptionsPOSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:
  • Manage Reliability engineers and their associated subsystems (TM and trucks, Propulsion system, rotating equipment, Air brakes and DP)
  • Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) and Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM).
  • Lead and support Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) with respective Subject matter Expert (SME).
  • Develop asset Life Cycle and Reliability-Availability-Maintainability (RAM) Analysis.
  • Lead Continuous Improvement of asset reliability and recommend optimization and technology opportunities.
  • Develop and/or review and improve required Reliability processes and Standards.
  • Review and comment as required Engineering Standards, Specifications and Safety Operational Procedures (SOPs).
  • Support Reliability at the Design Stage
  • Promote a work environment that stimulates talent development. Develop Training and development plans for direct reports.
  • Develop and implement risked based Key Performance Indicators (KPI) and feedback for locomotive maintenance and service interruptions efficiencies.
  • Implementation of reliability and maintenance procedures and visions to the shops.
  • Perform and achieve PMP objectives for all team members.
  • Working with Field Technicians to ensure proper execution of reliability, maintenance, program auditing and mods.
  • Quantify reliability successes, so that the resources necessary for sustainability are forthcoming.
  • Ensuring reliability programs and modifications are executed while significantly focusing on FL/Y reduction.
  • Implement and utilize machine learning and data analytics technology to help improve reliability.
  • Lead Asset Criticality Analysis
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
  • Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or Technology; technical expertise at a major railway may be considered;
  • 5 – 10 years’ experience in locomotive maintenance and repair or equivalent experience in heavy industry maintenance;
  • Field operation Leadership experience.
  • Advanced analytical and process skills (Lean, Greenbelt, etc.);
  • Ability to communicate to all levels in the organization and influence cross-functionally to achieve strategic business objectives;
  • Knowledge of SAP and Microsoft Suite
  • Results focused with an ability to apply oneself.
