Job Description

Job title Market Research Assistant Reports to Product Development Manager Location (Remote - must be located in Calgary) Job Status 8 weeks, 30 hours/weekThe Market Researcher will work under the supervision of the Product Development Manager and will be responsible for conducting user experience research-related activities for the NZF product line including strategizing, planning, conducting, and reporting on research activities.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Determine objectives and requirements of research projects and formulate a plan with the Product Development Manager and Education Manager
  • Devise and evaluate methods for collecting data, such as surveys, focus groups, questionnaires, and opinion polls to discover the habits, preferences, demographics, requirements, etc. of potential learners in the area of Zakat.
  • Organize and tabulate data and formulate reports
  • Manage and organize information monitoring the progress of research projects
  • Manage and organize information by conducting qualitative or quantitative surveys
  • Analyze and interpret data to identify patterns and solutions, including surveys and focus group transcripts
  • Consolidate information into actionable items, reports and presentations
  • Research and remain fully informed on market trends and techniques in online learning portals and digital education platforms

Education/Qualification:
  • Fundamentals of data management techniques and data reporting+visualization
  • Computer literacy with MS Office applications (Word, Excel), Google Apps
  • Fundamental knowledge of Zakat
  • Understanding of digital and online education platforms and user/learner experience (UX)
Eligibility
  • Must be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment
  • Must be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment**; and,
  • Must have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations
  • As per section 13.1(a) of the Articles of Agreement, youth hired for a Canada Summer Jobs-funded job cannot displace or replace existing employees or volunteers, employees that have been laid-off and are awaiting recall, employees absent due to an industrial dispute, employees on vacation, or employees on maternity or parental leave.
