Job Description

OverviewThe Marketing and Business Development Operations Advisor will sit within the Canadian Marketing and Business Development Operations team and will report in to the Marketing and Business Development Operations Manager. This role works closely with Clients and Markets teams including Marketing and Business Development, Client and Industry, Corporate Communications, Digital and Design and Data, Reporting and Technology in providing strategic support to drive operational initiatives and efficiencies.ResponsibilitiesThe Marketing and Business Development Operations Advisor will be a conduit helping to drive the continuous improvement of operational processes within the wider Client and Markets team. They will achieve this through the following core responsibilities:

  • Lead the development of a content analysis and reporting framework for the Canadian market
  • In conjunction with the Campaigns and Data, Reporting and Technology teams, oversee the development of a process for the analysis and reporting of campaign content measurement including data collection/distribution, SEO and other data intelligence for the planning of campaigns
  • Develop a process for regular feedback loops for content creators
  • In conjunction with the Knowledge and Digital teams, establish content development training for authors and develop and maintain best practice materials
  • Lead the development of a SEO operational framework to support the firms marketing activities
  • Develop and enhance processes for the researching, analyzing and distribution of SEO data
  • With the Campaigns Manager, evaluate SEO performance in campaigns and marketing initiatives to develop and maintain best practice materials
  • Support revenue generating processes by contributing to the development and tracking of internal processes across Clients and Markets
  • Oversee the matter collection and league table processes and provide back-up support as needed
  • Main Canadian point of contact for the Experience Management database, provide training as required to team members, escalate technical issues and contribute to any future enhancements
  • Lead the legal directory process in Canada by developing and maintaining toolkits for the business development teams for preparing and finalizing submissions, manage the tracking of ranking releases, assist with the internal/external communication plans and finally developing and maintaining best practice materials in English and French to support teams with submissions and research interviews
  • Working with the Data, Reporting and Technology team, contribute to the development and ongoing updating of dashboards for various operational activities including matters, rankings, awards and publications
  • Provide input and support for marketing and business development special projects as needed
Skills and experience required
  • Bachelors or recognized technical college degree (marketing or business preferred but not necessary).
  • Minimum of 4-6 years of experience in a corporate environment in a marketing, business development or related role.
  • Experience within a law firm is preferred but not necessary.
  • Experience developing, refining and implementing cross team processes.
  • Strong writing skills, as well as superior proofreading skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytic skills - ability to conduct research and track trends.
  • Experience with SEO tools, processes and trends
  • A self-starter who can work on own initiative and is proactive in developing ideas and solutions.
  • Possess a high level of business acumen and an understanding of client objectives and the legal marketplace.
  • Strong project management skills and ability to multi-task.
  • Must be able to meet tight deadlines and work under pressure.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Positive attitude and enthusiasm.
  • Strong interpersonal skills including being a team player
  • Bilingualism would be considered an asset
