As such, we welcome talented individuals that have a variety of perspectives, backgrounds, and industry experience who will contribute to the success of our One Parkland team.Position Title: Supervisor, Master DataTeam and Location: Finance – Calgary, ABPosition Summary:Reporting to the Director of Finance Master Data, this position is responsible for leading and supporting a group of 3-5 Master Data Analysts who perform data entry and data curation activities for Finance Master Data elements. The position mentors, trains and supervises the team while fostering a culture of critical thinking and continuous improvements amongst them. The role will also play a key part in the integration of Finance Master Data during all acquisitions at Parkland.Key Responsibilities:People Leadership:

  • Develops team via participation, engagement and collaboration
  • Assigns roles and responsibilities within team
  • Leads problem solving and decision making by seeking diverse inputs
  • Mentors, trains, and supervises a team of Master data analysts that setup and maintain master data e.g., address books, tax exemptions, business unit information, etc.
  • Performs delegation and provides autonomy to team to take ownership
  • Provides vacation support and backup when team needs to scale for occasional high workload
  • Promotes Health and Safety amongst all team members.
Operational Excellence:
  • Drives weekly huddles for master data team that focus on achievements and areas of opportunity.
  • Facilitates root cause identification of business issues and problems
  • Ensures that existing and new processes are documented through Quick Reference Guides and How-to guides
  • Tracks SLAs/monthly KPIs and reports results to Shared Services management

  • Works with leader to effectively prioritize and deliver what is critical for stakeholders
  • Is an effective communicator of overall strategy and work mandate to the team
  • Participates and provide subject matter expertise (for master data) in the data governance and data quality initiatives
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, statistics, finance, or equivalent discipline is an asset
  • 3+ years of related experience in a supervisory role
  • Experience working in a strong customer service focused environment.
  • Excellent critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proven track record in building and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong work experience in a master data management environment is highly desirable
  • Proven track record of leading teams with focus on continuous improvement
  • Working knowledge of accounting principles would be preferred
  • Understanding of data management and data governance principles is an asset
  • Strong analytical and computer skills (e.g., Excel, Word)
  • Exposure to reporting tools such as PowerBI, etc. would be a bonus
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Six Sigma Yellow Belt or equivalent certification would be an asset
