At the ENMAX group of companies, we look for energy solutions for today, while knowing we have the power to provide for a better tomorrow.The Maximo Support Specialist is responsible for the implementation and sustainment of the Maximo technology infrastructure that supports asset management, work management, inventory, supply chain, problem identification and resolution, engineering change, and performance management for the entire ENMAX Corporation.Major Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop and support and deploy technical solutions for Maximo and associated mobile applications
  • Research, analyze, evaluate, test, and recommend solutions for advancing the Maximo technology platform
  • Develop and enforce standards for changes and access to Maximo application, servers and database
  • Analyzes and resolves issues related to flow of information to and from Maximo and data integrity
  • Apply system analysis and design techniques to develop, code, debug and test business opportunities or problems
  • May work as a technical lead on projects requiring an advanced knowledge of methods, processes and techniques
  • Proactively monitor and maintain Maximo infrastructure, coordinating with the team to upgrade and implement new solutions
  • Provide specialized support to investigate and solve user, interface and system problems - including problem identification, documentation, and analysis
  • Maintains and conducts unit and acceptance testing results
  • Develop and execute detailed test plans for all newly developed custom code including coordination of testing activities, and support for user acceptance testing during major software changes
  • Develop and maintain system documentation for both custom and packaged applications as needed
  • Regular communication with vendors and business partners to discuss requirements and results, resolve technical problems, and research information
  • Support existing and new integrations between Maximo and other ENMAX systems and/or third party
Education Required:
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent, supplemented by at least 10 years of experience in applications development and/or sustainment
  • IT Certification, Computer Programming, or equivalent experience
  • IBM Maximo certification is an asset
Qualifications & Experience:
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in Information Technology
  • Minimum 5 years technical Maximo experience with release levels 7.5, 7.6, 7.6.1
  • Advanced user of Internet Explorer, Chrome, and Firefox (familiar with developer tools)
  • Intermediate to advanced user of Windows, macOS, and iOS
  • Experience with building, configuring, and deploying mobile applications such as Maximo Anywhere, Everyplace, Work Center, and Mobile EAM
  • Ability to write, review and optimize SQL queries used for front-end applications (Maximo) and reports (BIRT, Cognos, Power BI), and create indexes to improve database performance
  • Experience with Python, JavaScript, and Java programming languages is an asset
  • Experience configuring, troubleshooting, and deploying applications in a clustered WebSphere environment is an asset
  • Experience with Spatial Asset Management and Utilities add-ons is an asset
