Job Description

Big Loop Construction is looking for Plumbing Forman to join their crew in Calgary. Big Loop is a growing construction company with multiple projects underway.This is a full-time position, and we offer competitive wages and benefits.Candidates should be motivated, hardworking, safety oriented, responsible, and reliable.An interprovincial trade qualification would be an asset.Job OverviewReporting to the Site Superintendent, the Mechanical/Plumbing Foreman is responsible for managing the field assets of personnel, material and equipment to ensure timely and proper completion of projects. Provides technical assistance to field staff and coordinates project requirements with the Designers, the Fabrication Shop, and all other team members.Key Responsibilities:

  • Hires and Oversees personnel and works with the Core Group to manage labour.
  • Works with the office team to order, receive, and manage materials and equipment.
  • Manages on site tools and equipment
  • Provides technical assistance in relation to plumbing.
  • Reviews and understands all drawings, specifications, and mechanical systems on designated projects.
  • Diagnoses design issues regarding plumbing, gas, heating, ventilation, air conditioning systems and/or components for the purpose of identifying problems & needs necessary for the designs intent to work properly.
  • Ensures installations comply with applicable codes and regulations.
  • Coordinate municipal inspections.
  • Maintain paperwork such as Hazard Assessments, Timesheets, Weekly Labour Reports, Daily Logs, Safety Forms, etc.
  • Ensure understanding of, and compliance with, the company Operational Health and Safety Manual.
  • Ensure As-Built drawings are kept up to date.
  • Co-ordinates his work with other trades during mechanical installation as required.
