Together we make Calgary a great place to make a living, a great place to make a life.As a Media Disclosure Specialist in the Court and Disclosure Unit, you will process audio and video footage from Body Worn Camera, Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) systems and videos generated by the Calgary Police Service (CPS) for court disclosure. You will also be responsible for the conversion, vetting, and editing needs of digital media for court-ready evidence and court disclosure. Primary duties include:Examine a variety of digital multimedia evidence including Body Worn Camera media evidence.Use various technologies and a range of software techniques to vet and/or convert media evidence.Record all procedures followed and technologies used during the editing process, with the knowledge and understanding that this information is subject to disclosure.Prioritize court ready media or documents to meet defined deadlines.Complete copies for disclosure submission requests in a time sensitive manner.Determine which proprietary software programs to provide to Crown Prosecutors.Complete conversion of media and editing requests.Respond to Crown Inquiry memos.Educate CPS Officers, Crown stakeholders regarding media submissions.Maintain current inventory of video components.Working Conditions: exposure to graphic and disturbing media.QualificationsA High School diploma or equivalency (e.g. GED).A completed 1-year certificate in Justice or Police Studies, or have completed a post secondary diploma or degree.A minimum of 1 year of experience working in policing, law enforcement or court related environment.Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).Working knowledge with media programs such as: Adobe Premier Pro, AVS Converter, Handbrake, WavePad Sound Editor, and Omnivore will be considered assets.Success in this role requires a high degree of efficiency, thoroughness, and the ability to adapt to changing work priorities to meet customer needs.You work effectively in a team environment; demonstrate excellent communication; and display professionalism, sound judgement, and sensitivity when dealing with confidential information.Pre-employment RequirementsAn enhanced security clearance and pre-employment polygraph will be conducted.Successful applicants must provide proof of qualifications.Union: CUPE Local 38Business Unit: Calgary Police ServicePosition Type: (6) Temporary (up to 18 months)Location: Westwinds West Building, 5050 40 Street N.E.Compensation: Pay Grade 8 $33.79 - 45.19 per hourDays of Work: This position works a 5 daywork week with 1 day off in a 3 week cycle.Hours of work: Standard 35 hour work weekAudience: Internal/ExternalApply By: June 14, 2021Job ID #: 304039
