We’re looking for innovative team players ready to take some of the most well-known entertainment brands in the country to the next level.Posting Date: July 6, 2021Closing Date: July 20, 2021Position: Meteorologist / Weather HostLocation: (CTV Calgary) Calgary, AlbertaSalary: Commensurate with education and experienceHours of Work: 40 hours per weekJoining the On-Air team at CTV Calgary, this multi-talent and experienced individual will report to the News Director and be responsible for:Responsibilities:Anchoring Weather live in studio and on locationProduce and deliver concise, forecast-focused weather information (including weather graphics, weather updates and web casts)Consulting with Producers, Anchors, Reporters, Assignment Editor, and other Newsroom staff to provide creative input to the production of on-air contentGenerating strong story ideasAssist in driving the show in a positive and productive directionRepresenting CTV at community and charity events, and making various public appearancesOther duties as assigned, which may include interviewing or reporting liveQualifications:2-3 years experience as a weather presenter in a similar size market newscastPost Secondary Education in Broadcasting, or Journalism. Meteorology Degree would be a definite assetKnowledge of television production procedures, terminology and equipment capabilitiesExperience with breaking news. Strong interviewing and “live” reporting skillsAbility to add libExceptional organization, leadership, concentration and communication skillsDemonstrated ability to react quickly and productively in a changing environment requiring immediate decision-makingAbility to adhere to tight deadlines and work with minimal supervisionBilingualism is an asset (English and French); adequate knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec.Additional Information:Position Type: Media - TalentJob Status: Regular - Full TimeJob Location: Canada : Alberta : CalgaryApplication Deadline: 07/20/2021Please apply directly online to be considered for this role.
