About the Calgary StampedeThe Calgary Stampede celebrates the people, the animals, the land, the traditions and the values that make up the unique spirit of the west. The Calgary Stampede contributes to the quality of life in Calgary and southern Alberta through our world-renowned Stampede, year-round facilities, western events and several youth and agriculture programs. All revenue is reinvested into Calgary Stampede programs and facilities.Position SummaryThe Network Administrator is responsible for conducting support operations and major project work in the data communications technical space at The Calgary Stampede and Exhibition. The Network Administrator will also provide feedback into technical elements of strategic direction in the data communications space. They must, on a regular basis, interface with end users, vendors, and other members of the IT team.ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Escalate issues to vendors [website] Cisco TAC, telcos, MSP’s) and/or other internal groups and collaborate with said groups to resolve complex issues.
  • Support the corporate network infrastructure by resolving incidents. This includes providing 7x24 support by participating in an on-call rotation.
  • Support user community by executing service requests for Moves, Adds, Changes, Deletions for the corporate network infrastructure.
  • Communicate status of technical network tasks to IS project stakeholders for network and other projects.
  • Implement new network systems (Projects) for various sites and groups: Perform testing of implemented designs to ensure successful go-live Document as-built configurations for implemented systems
Qualifications
  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in a technical program for IT infrastructure management.
  • 2 – 3 years’ experience operating in an Enterprise IT environment Prior routing and switching experience, preferably capable of attaining Cisco accreditations (Cisco Certified Network Associate – Routing and Switching).
  • Management skills and current routing and switching technologies for installation and operational support of enterprise network infrastructure.
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of Cisco Wireless Technologies and Network Security fundamentals.
  • Working knowledge of key technical aspects of server infrastructure, data centers and enterprise IT infrastructure technologies.
  • Strong knowledge and competence in operating in an Enterprise ITIL environment.
  • Excellent analytical and technical troubleshooting skills as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Required skillset
  • Design, maintain and operate Cisco Wireless controller
  • Design, maintain and operate Cisco Catalyst switches
Preferred skillset
  • Maintain and operate Cisco Identity services engine (ISE)
  • Maintain and operate Cisco DNAC
  • Maintain and operate Paloalto firewall
