Job Description

The NGL Logistics’ primary responsibility is the planning, coordination, and management of all transportation activities via rail, truck and pipeline in a fast-paced environment.Qualifications:

  • University degree or other post-secondary certificate in a relevant field
Experience:
  • 5-10 years of progressive logistics or fleet management experience, preferably in the Energy industry.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working with Class 1 railways
  • Strong rail experience is required
  • Experience with product delivery via pipeline, truck, and rail is considered an asset
  • Knowledge of various Canadian and U.S. regulations relative to the transportation of dangerous goods/hazardous materials
  • Experience with SAP, CVMS, ETRM systems, and PowerBI is considered an asset

  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
  • Attention to detail and strong communication skills are required
  • Excellent planning, analytical, problem solving, and time management skills
  • A proven ability to work independently, while recommending solutions and improvements to processes
  • Proven ability to establish strong internal and external relationships
  • Ability to work under pressure and prioritize to deliver on tight deadlines
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
Key Activities and Responsibilities:
  • Manage the day-to-day product scheduling from the Redwater Olefinic Facility ("ROF"), via truck, pipeline, and rail
  • Work with Marketing and customers to confirm and execute delivery plan, ensuring transportation plans are aligned with contract commitments
  • Manage railcar deliveries from/to ROF, proactively work with railways, trucking companies, ROF Operator and customers to adjust transportation plans when required
  • Manage the fleet of railcars, ensuring railcar utilization and various storage positions are optimized. Continuously assess the fleet size and balance of loaded and empty railcars based on sales destinations, cycle times and overall railcar demand
  • Provide solutions and ideas to maximize/improve profit on existing deals and/or explore hidden value/options. Utilize, develop and own process and data improvement to support commercial and operational Key Performance Indicator reporting
  • Investigate incidents or delays, recommend corrective actions, and monitor action plans
  • Work with ROF Operator, Marketing and T&L team to manage the rack nominations between all products
  • Lead or support the month end process for reporting railcar placement to internal stakeholders, investigate and reconcile gaps
Hours:Full time Monday-Friday; this role requires occasional after-hours support or flexible on-call hours.As this position is identified as security sensitive, employment of a final candidate will be conditional upon completion of pre-employment criminal background check assessments with satisfactory results.Proof of COVID-19 vaccination is required for this position as a condition of employment.
