Job Description

Operations and Maintenance Staff - Part TimeWe are looking for a personable and dedicated employee to join our maintenance crew.Responsibilities:

  • care and maintenance of the park, 9 entrance parcels and 5 lake access areas
  • responsible for the thorough understanding and consistent application and enforcement of park rules and regulations
  • ensures the safety of members and their guests as well as the safety of other employees
  • responding to questions regarding park rules and regulations
  • responding to customer complaints, concerns and/or suggestions
  • maintenance of the turf including cutting, fertilizing and watering
  • pruning trees and shrubs
  • proper application of chemicals to trees, shrubs and grass areas
  • preparing, planting and maintaining flowers beds and planters
  • fall clean up of the park including raking and removal of leaves
  • maintain, repair and winterize the irrigation system
  • maintenance of the perimeter fence and gates
  • maintain and repair the docks and access docks
  • maintain and repair the recreational equipment
  • care and maintenance of the beach area, including levelling of sand
  • responsible for the collection of garbage throughout the park
  • painting, cleaning and minor repairs of the buildings on site as required
  • maintenance and minor repairs of maintenance equipment as required
  • cleaning of cook shacks and BBQs
  • cleaning of maintenance area in the main building
  • cleaning and re-stocking of washrooms
  • snow removal from walkways, parking lots and skating surfaces
  • maintenance of skating surfaces on the lake and upper rinks
  • operation of the ice maintenance equipment
  • installation and removal of Christmas lights and decorations
  • maintaining the fire pit
  • relieve gate attendants for their breaks and perform office duties as required (update cards, take pictures, sign out equipment, etc.)
  • deal with minor first aid concerns
  • assist members and their guests (i.e. trouble with recreational equipment)
  • closing and securing of the park, buildings and equipment at the end of the day
Requirements:
  • Alberta Class 5 Drivers License
  • Police Information Check* (if offered a position)
Assets:
  • Certification in Emergency First-Aid and CPR
  • Landscaping experience
  • Machinery Operation certification or experience
  • Recreation Facilities experience
  • Ability to swim
Job Types: Part-time, PermanentPart-time hours: 15-20 per weekSalary: From $16.00 per hourBenefits:

Experience:
  • maintenance: 1 year (preferred)
