Job Description

Reporting to the ROC Lead, you will be responsible for providing remote expertise to the field operations execution team regarding the safe operation of wells, water assets and compression. You will collaborate with ROC and Cross Functional team members in real-time to ensure the optimization of production while minimizing operation costs and conducting all daily activities within the framework of PETRONAS Canada’s corporate policies, all while demonstrating safety as a top priority.This Calgary-based position will work a shift rotation based on 12 hour shifts. The final shift rotation is currently under review. Some travel to our field operations is required.This is a Safety Sensitive Position, and therefore you must be able to pass pre-employment and pre-access drug and alcohol screening and background checks. You must also possess current H2S, First Aid, WHMIS and TDG certificates.HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE:

  • Responsible for real-time monitoring and dispatch of appropriate responses to field alarms while effectively evaluating and analyzing the root cause
  • Delivers a fully experienced level of operations troubleshooting and pigging support, and effectively manages remote control operations and manual overrides
  • Collaboratively determines and communicates daily operational activities and contributes to the 7-day planning cycle while coordinating logistics for urgent, critical activities as required
  • Coordinates responses for the Field Operations execution team, responding to queries, field support requirements, safety, and production events
  • Responsible for the creation of clear and concise work order requests utilizing Maximo
  • Initiates effective action plans to resolve surface OGC deficiencies as identified by Operations and/or Regulators, including Technical Safety BC
  • Analyzes, interprets and validates PVR field data including downtime coding, fuel flare venting, and fluid inventories
  • Maintains an intricate online production database
  • Builds collaborative relationships and actively engages with internal stakeholders, including Production Accounting, Engineering, Marketing and HSSE, for the purpose of analyzing daily/weekly outputs against plans
WHAT YOU BRING:
  • Minimum 5 years of experience with progressive responsibilities in production operations/oil and gas industry
  • Previous experience with remote operations
  • Competent knowledge of PVR, SCADA and Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, PI Vision and Microsoft TEAMS
  • Proficiency with Maximo and Power BI is considered an asset
  • Models and promotes safe behaviors in all work environments in accordance with health and safety regulations, corporate policies, procedures and guidelines
