Your Opportunity:Due to operational need additional team opportunities may be selected from this competition. The Team Lead provides coordination and day-to-day operational leadership for the community paramedic staff and a variety of community health services. The Team Lead provides operational support and leadership under limited supervision in accordance with designated patient care protocols and guidelines, Alberta Health Services policies and procedures and the EMS Health Disciplines Act of Alberta. This Team Lead will be a patient advocate who effectively communicates and interacts with other allied health care professionals and community service partners. Active registration with Alberta College of Paramedics (ACP) as a Primary Care Paramedic. Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Healthcare Provider (BCLS-HCP). Must hold a valid Class 4 Alberta Operator's Licence with no more than six (6) demerits. Completion of the Functional Abilities Recruitment Evaluation (F.A.R.E.) test taken no more than six (6) months prior to the application date.Additional Required Qualifications:Must hold a current, unrestricted registration in the discipline applied to (EMT-P) with the Alberta College of Paramedics. Must maintain clinical competencies within their scope of practice as determined by AHS. Must hold a valid Class 4 Alberta Operator’s License (or equivalent) and have fewer than six (6) demerit points. Experience and/or education in Community Paramedicine. Be able to demonstrate satisfactory past work performance and relevant work experience. Your profile (resume) must include three professional references with current contact information. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Experience working in a multi-disciplinary team environment. Experience providing staff leadership and mentorship. Education and/or experience in Community Health Services is an asset e.g. nursing, social work, senior’s health. Strong understanding of Calgary Zone Supportive Living Sites (SL3, SL4 &SL4D). Experience working with vulnerable populations in the community. Understanding of the delivery of primary health care in Alberta. Understanding of health databases is an asset i.e. PARIS, NETCARE Strong understanding of process and procedures for Calgary Mobile Lab and Pharmacy services. Strong understanding of Goals of Care/Advanced Planning.Preferred Qualifications:Understanding of accountability and communication through proven completion of courses such as Art of Accountability, Communication Strategy and Community Focused Theory. Strong understanding of community health documentation and procedure standards Advanced knowledge of pharmacology and geriatric medicine. Leadership courses applicable to human resource management. Completion of courses pertaining to grief support and Non-violent crisis intervention.
