In support of our belief that diversity in our faculty and staff enriches the work, learning and research experiences for the entire campus community, we strongly encourage members of the designated groups (women, Indigenous Peoples, persons with disabilities, members of visible minorities, and diverse sexual orientation and gender identities) to apply and self-identify.About the Department of Business and Retail ServicesMount Royal University’s Business and Retail Services compliments the student and employee experience by providing a wide range of offerings to the University community including access to the Bookstore, Document Services, Parking and Transportation Services, Events and Conference Services, and Hospitality Services (Retail Food Service, Catering, Beverage and Snack Vending, and ATM banking).About the RoleReporting to the Manager of Parking & Transportation Services (PTS), the Parking Compliance Team Lead is responsible for monitoring all parking lots at Mount Royal University (MRU) to ensure compliance as defined within MRU’s Parking and Traffic Bylaws. This position provides guidance to casual and part-time staff, and provides recommendations to the PTS Manager to ensure parking lot signage is relevant, up-to-date, and easily observed by parkers. In addition, the Parking Compliance Team Lead is responsible for reporting hazards and maintenance concerns to the PTS Manager. This position administers parking violations, answers questions related to parking lot issues, and helps parkers find appropriate parking where applicable. The incumbent is also responsible for monitoring the parking appeals email address and compiling appeal forms for the PTS Manager for decision making purposes. This position is a full-time role working 35 hours per week.ResponsibilitiesLot Patrols and Parking Enforcement

  • Gathers and analyzes operating data; develops reports of parking and transportation metrics as directed and makes recommendations on how to better serve the campus community in by using parking technologies;
  • Mobile and foot patrol of parking lots and structures to identify issues and incidences of payment non-compliance;
  • Ensuring parking enforcement hardware and software is in good repair and working order;
  • Parking subject matter expert to train and assist casual employees;
  • Updating internal process on a regular basis to meet demand; and
  • Report any unsafe lot conditions, maintenance requirements, equipment issues, and signage deficiencies to the PTS Manager.
Staff Supervision
  • Monitoring staff to ensure functional duties are carried out as determined by the PTS Manager;
  • Approve employee timesheets prior to sending to the PTS Manager for final approval;
  • Make recommendations related to staffing requirements to ensure all parking lots are monitored on a consistent basis.
Customer Service
  • Supporting on-campus events, including evenings and weekends, as it relates to transportation demand;
  • Parking desk coverage;
  • Monitoring the parking appeals email address to ensure timely feedback is provided to customers;
  • Being an MRU parking ambassador on campus to students, staff, and visitors; and
  • Provide feedback to the PTS Manager, PTS Customer Service Team Lead, and the PTS Technical Coordinator on lot occupancies, customer service complaints, and parking equipment malfunctions.
Qualifications
  • Ability to work to work in a fast-paced environment in adverse weather conditions;
  • Demonstrable experience working in a customer service role;
  • High-level attention to detail and ability to work with Microsoft Office;
  • Experience supervising staff;
  • Exceptional communication skills;
  • Completion of a minimum of one-year of post-secondary education. A combination of education and experience may be considered; and
  • 12 - 18 months of relatable experience.
