Job Description

Date: Nov 29, 2022Location: Calgary, Alberta, CanadaCompany: Trans MountainTrans Mountain operates Canada’s only pipeline system transporting oil products to the West Coast. We deliver approximately 300,000 barrels of petroleum products each day through 1,150 kilometres of pipeline in Alberta and British Columbia, and 111 kilometres of pipeline in Washington state.The Pipeline Integrity Data Analyst will work with in the Integrity Threat and Risk Management group, with Integrity Engineers, Risk Engineers and other Data Analysts, and will be responsible for the data capture, processing, management, and output into risk software applications. This role will maintain quality control assessments of pipeline integrity data in the use for risk analysis.Key Responsibilities :

  • Develop and maintain pipeline integrity datasets in ArcGIS platforms (Portal, Online, etc.).
  • Responsible for the database development and management of pipeline integrity risk data, including schema changes and database optimization.
  • Create, edit, and maintain Pipeline Integrity data in a pipeline data model (UPDM preferred). Create and edit procedures to capture the processes in the data model that can be used by Integrity Risk Group.
  • Perform QA/QC checks on data, tables, and mapping. Understand proprietary data and troubleshoot integration models.
  • Work within an ArcSDE environment with versioning. Work with a third-party vendor to provide pipeline integrity risk data.
  • Provide overall guidance, including review and oversight, on work completed by a GIS technician and other junior analysts working on integrity data
Qualifications and Professional Experience:
  • A CIG Certification, ESRI Certification, GISP, B. Sc. GIS, P. Eng., GIS
  • 5-7 years of experience in a related position
  • High level of expertise with ESRI ArcGIS applications as related to transmission pipeline systems management.
  • Expertise with chainage based linear reference systems.
  • Expertise with map coordinate systems.
  • Expertise with SDE and relational databases.
  • Expertise with automatic alignment sheet generation.
  • Expertise with the development and implementation of SDE based orthophoto databases.
  • Demonstrated ability to be successful in an agile work environment.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent oral and written interpersonal communication skills.
