Your Opportunity:Reporting to the Director, Space Management, the Accommodation Planner is responsible for providing space solutions in community health and corporate services. The Accommodation Planner works with leadership and end users to resolve space requests, which can include minor furniture reconfigurations to large tenant improvement projects. The Accommodation Planner is responsible for providing test-fits and space plans, functional programming, and furniture solutions. They are also responsible for managing minor projects and advising on AHS design standards and guidelines to consultants and contractors. The Accommodation Planner also works closely with internal project managers, property managers, and real estate coordinators on various initiatives, including evaluating spaces and making recommendations on investment, lease renewals or terminations, and expansion plans. This Accommodation Planner position will support AHS Calgary Zone. This position is travels to sites within its portfolio on a regular basis, as often as 1-2 times per week.Description:The Accommodation Planner is responsible for: Contributing to the formulation of policies, developing programs and /or administering programs as related to space management activity. Advise and collaborate with Real Estate & Leasing (South) regarding lease portfolio (i.e. terminate, renewal) and assist in acquisition and disposition of leased space for accommodation. Advise and collaborate with Real Estate & Leasing (South) to explore opportunities for Tenant Improvement Allowances, both on initiation of new space and renewal of existing space. Ensure alignment with space standard guidelines for providing efficient and effective space utilization and space allocation. Generate space summaries and accommodation plans based on requests for new space, current space allocations or the function of the space is changing. Assess needs, prepare and “test fit” conceptual layouts to ensure functional accommodation. Prepare planning scenarios, budget estimates, define the scope of work, design parameters and project schedule. Co-ordinate with other AHS support units to define other facility related requirements (e.g. Protective Services, Workplace Health & Safety, Infection Prevention & Control, Information Technology, Project Management, Property Management, Real Estate & Leasing, etc.) Assist as required during the bid and contractor evaluation stages during project development. Provide in-house expertise and assist with the creation of design standards for community and corporate facilities. Provide direction and monitor the performance of a wide variety of consultants and suppliers. Able to effectively manage project planning and design teams that are comprised of internal and external resources. Advise on the selection of appropriate furniture, fixtures, and finishes.
