To be a successful Practice Leader you should be ready to be able to identify opportunities / risks.Practice Leaders are responsible to

  • Develop market-leading capabilities and drive the skills and talent strategy for the Canadian practice population.
  • Define Skills & Talent Strategy that includes definition of job role and specialties, training/learning programs and investments, and sourcing strategy of skills.
  • Work with the Canadian Sales teams to ensure readiness for Skills & Talent shifts.
  • Build comprehensive talent transformation programs as required.
  • Support training programs and investment to drive the Skills & Talent Strategy as using the global practice requirements as a guideline.
  • Own Sourcing strategy, Labor Cost & Utilization Model for your Practice.
  • Own Delivery Methodology, including automation, standards, asset reuse.
  • Create a cohesive, geography-level execution of the Global Practice strategy.
  • Provide geography factors input to the global overall practice strategy for Skills & Talent development and sourcing strategy.
  • Adopt Delivery Methodology and feedback for continual improvement.
  • Ensure staffing of practice resources to projects is appropriate.
  • Coach and guide on best practices (assets), and value propositions to enable pipeline development.
  • Provide solutions and delivery signing off new businesses.
  • Partner with Canada Leadership on overall Performance management.
  • Optimize workforce across Markets within Geography.

Responsibilities:
  • PL is accountable for executing against Headcount targets by managing costs and maximizing client value. PL ensures that the work is performed by the lowest capable band.
  • PL is accountable for hiring talent and determining location of resources. PL will execute a hiring plan that accounts for future pipeline and talent needs, executing seamless hiring process and delivering optimal experience for new hires.
  • PL ensures the execution of the skill sourcing strategy (labor mix) to meet demand and ensures Kyndryl/ IBM gets ahead of the market for future skills.
  • PL proactively shapes a diversified workforce, addressing objectives around diversity and inclusion.
  • PL drives community participation and engagement for his Practice, fostering a sense of connectedness and energy among practitioners of all bands. PL empowers his Practice to own culture creation by establishing communication channels, such as Slack, and holding ‘all-hands calls’.
  • PLs are accountable for progression and performance management, retention and attrition with decision rights to promote high performers and exit low performers.
  • PL defines the training and development paths for his Practice, in close collaboration with the Canadian Leaders and provides a culture of transparency, feedback and mentorship.
  • PL ensures that Practitioners are afforded the time to attend training sessions and attain credentials to gain industry eminence in and outside of Kyndryl
  • to be a competitive voice in the market.
  • PL collaborates with HR to identify candidates for skill development via reskilling and upskilling programs.
  • PL provides oversight for reskilled employees by providing further shadowing and mentoring until they become ready for project deployment.
  • PL is accountable for utilization in line with economic model expectations by actively managing the bench to improve low utilization.
  • PL should improve low utilization by helping practitioners get on billable client work by working closely with Sales.
  • PL ensures that projects be staffed with practitioners that are deployed on right-fit roles that match skill requirements and account/offering needs that meet industry demands.
  • PL is required to establish excellence in client delivery by investing in continual improvement programs.
  • PL drives effective adoption of Process, Methods & Tools (PM&T) by improving predictability and quality of client deliverables.
