Job Description

Posting Description:Aon is looking for a Practice Leader – Indigenous Services GroupThe National Indigenous Services Group Leader has three primary responsibilities:

  • Delivering services and unmatched value to the Canadian Indigenous Communities we serve to grow leadership position (client satisfaction, market share, revenue, scope of services, etc.).
  • Championing Aon Canada’s dedication to being a leading organization in adopting the principles outlined in the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (UNDRIP) – educating our staff and communities, while also helping to increase the opportunities for Indigenous people in our firm and industries.
  • Connecting outside of Canada with other Aon countries with Indigenous Practice Groups to leverage the best of Aon globally, addressing the unique issues of Indigenous Communities.
Distinctive Client Value and Operational excellenceDevelop a business plan for the segment which:
  • Identifies Aon’s current position in each region,
  • Identifies/appoints key staff servicing the business in each region,
  • Identifies/appoints region leaders for the segment.
  • Identifies at least 10 key prospects in each region/producer to focus sales effort in collaboration with Branches.
  • Coordinates community activities to raise brand awareness through sponsorship, participation and attendance at community events
  • Consolidates regional plans to roll up into a National plan
  • Monthly communication with Broking Centre of Excellence (CoE) or more often as needed
  • Participates in Underwriter meetings with Broking CoE and Linx as required
  • Identifies potential M&A opportunities or portfolio purchases
Communication
  • External communication with clients and communities – through a strong network in Indigenous communities across Canada
  • Including participation/sponsorship of community events, in collaboration with the Marketing Team
  • Participation and speaking at Indigenous events such as AFOA, Cando, AFN and the Federal Government
  • Internal communication within the group and reporting to Aon leadership
  • Continue to drive education and awareness of Indigenous issues throughout Aon Canada and our key partners.
  • Strengthen the ISG Team through regular engagement such as sharing wins/losses and best practices
  • Develop sales training and strategy specific to Indigenous communities by region
  • Monthly calls with regional leaders to track progress
  • Organize annual segment meeting to form relationships and elevate segment expertise, strategy and tactics.
  • Track and report progress against plan. Track monthly and report quarterly
  • Work with geography leaders to cultivate a positive work environment
  • Engage specialties as required to deliver best of Aon and secure wins
DeliveryExecution of plan
  • Monitor Aon values and best practices to ensure delivery of Aon Client Promise
  • Attend client meetings/presentations as the need arises
  • Cross-sell other solution lines and work closely with leaders from Risk Control, H&B and AGRC.
