  • for success of capital project execution and technical integrity of the operating Assets
  • by working with a broad spectrum of stakeholders, implementing and improving global IM standards, and overseeing innovative IM solutions.
To this end the IM Lead will:
  • As technical authority for IM, manage IM activities and deliverables for the Capital Project and ensure timely completion to the required quality standards and effective handover to the Asset teams.
  • Exercise information assurance and control in order to: track delivery against plan / contractual obligations, manage information development, oversee status reviews / approval workflows / audit trails, and support / ensure / demonstrate project compliance with standards, both from a global and where applicable, local perspective (including regulatory).

  • Ensuring that various disciplines on the Capital Project understand data specifications and standards.
  • Managing, influencing, and delivering across complex interfaces over organizational (Project/Asset), geographic, and contractual boundaries. Position oversees the IM Discipline Technical Authorities for the Capital Project and key interface with contractors on IM specifications in lump sum contractual environment
  • Taking on oversight of quality IM delivery from global lump-sum EPC contractor mid-contract and influencing / collaborating to deliver on minimum-viable-product outcomes that preserve planned value.

*You will use your expertise to: *
  • Oversee, optimize, and continuously improve delivery of Information Management for the LNGC Capital Project including: related budgets, risks, guidelines, and procedures (for the owner’s project team, and design / execution contractors – including effective and efficient ongoing support for owner team quality assurance processes for EPC deliverables).
  • Maintain the Project IM Strategy and IM Plan using Project Controls, Assurance Plans and contribution to FLAWLESS process (ensuring compliance with the relevant global standards and solutions e.g. DEP Engineering Information Specification (DEP EIS)). Contribute to other key project deliverables as needed (e.g. Project Execution Strategy and Plan).
  • Ensure that the IM requirements are implemented by contractors, compliance is tested regularly, and quality data, document, and tooling value is protected for future digital asset whilst enabling ongoing execution.
  • Oversee the progressive handover plan and execution from EPC and contractors to ensure quality handover from contractors to owners Project team and Asset team transpires (data, documents and tooling; in conjunction with LNGC Digital Data Lead) to enable the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) build.
  • Facilitate provision of document control services at key Capital Project locations including e.g. home office, engineering offices and construction sites.
  • Leverage Digital Data Lead to oversee and provide data control processes and services for design and asset information to ensure quality (complete, consistent, and correct). Data forms the basis for future decisions and digital capability.
  • Provide overall IM leadership to facilitate IM Team performance, resourcing, motivation, and development.
  • Understand, effectively define, and monitor both internal and external organizational interfaces and the roles & responsibilities within the IM team in a Capital Project.
  • Support project IM best practices and compliance (records management, information security and lifecycle management).
  • Timely and visible Key Performance Indicator reporting to leadership and stakeholders to assure successful delivery of IM program (understand current state, where we want to be, and what is required to successfully get there).
*To be successful, you will have: *Experience:
  • 10 years IM Leadership experience delivering quality information and data on major Capital Projects in Execution phase (Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and transition to Operations).
  • Demonstrated track record of delivering value through data and digital technologies, leveraging IM, business (engineering) domain knowledge and strong technical skills to drive success.
  • Past project management experience essential.
  • Experience working with Engineering Data Warehouse (EDW) systems (Hexagon SmartPlant Foundation) and document management/ control tools (Hexagon SmartPlant Foundation, ASSAI Cloud…).
  • Engineering, Procurement, and Construction contract management and/or delivery experience.
  • Interface management in the major execution contracts, particularly lump sum (FEED, EPC, EPCM, etc.).
  • Previous exposure to the large O/G incl Shell, Upstream / Downstream environment in project engineering, project services or discipline engineering role is desirable but not essential.
Knowledge of:
  • Data / document control processes and systems in major capital projects, solutions and applications that facilitate them – EDW, EDMS, reporting software such as PowerBI, etc.
  • Hexagon SmartPlant integrated engineering design tools and associated value and capabilities.
  • Methodologies and Frameworks associated to project execution: Opportunity Realization Process (ORP), Project Management Framework (PMF), Project Standards, Discipline Engineering Practices (DEP) framework, Project Delivery Framework (PDF), and related assurance activities
  • Methodologies associated to operational readiness and pace-setting asset operations: Asset Management System (AMS)
  • Digital twin concepts for value during Asset phase
  • Data analytical tools such as PowerBI for KPI reporting

Must be legally entitled to work in Canada (i.e., by way of Canadian citizenship, permanent residency, or valid work permit)*
  • Reside in Calgary, AB and will be working mix of Working from home and in the LNG Canada Office downtown and the EPC FLUOR office.
  • This role is expected to end approximately, October, 31, 2024.
  • Will work in a non-Shell operated standalone venture leveraging IMIT services and solutions by others. Although the position will be based in Calgary, the LNGC IMIT team spans multiple locations and leverages transactional capability in high value centers;
  • LNGC has a digital value strategy – progressive quality data / document / tooling handover will de-risk project execution, asset startup, and ongoing Asset performance while providing a lasting data foundation for future digital value.
  • Co-champion with LNGC Digital Data Lead the successful value delivery and use of LNGC novelties (SPO/SPF, SP engineering tools), market standard solutions, and new processes (such as Asset Management System) to help realize simplification, business benefits, and future digitalization value related to Asset IM, Operations & Maintenance
  • Know that the IM specifications defined as part of the lump sum EPC contract; with multiple project components making up the transition to the asset team;
  • Will leverage digitalization, continuous improvement / automation, agile, and outcome-based delivery to continually improve and enable team effectiveness, efficiencies, and overall business value.
  • Leverage your experience and skills to hit the ground running and enable business value and oversee all IM delivery and team aspects (Venture, Capital Project Execution, and Operations Readiness). There is little room for development or experience shortcomings.
