Company ProfileMinto Metals, a producing underground copper mine has exciting opportunities to become part of our team and live by our Company values – Be Safe, Be Honest, Be Responsible, Be Respectful and Be Great!PositionWe are seeking Project Manager for a full-time/regular position. The role will be based at the Minto mine, 250km north of Whitehorse, YT. This is a camp-based position on a fly-in, fly out basis working a two-week on/two weeks off rotation. Travel to/from Whitehorse and the mine site is paid for by the company.The Ideal CandidateYou will have:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Civil, Mining Mechanical, Process preferred)
• Professional Engineering Registration (preferred)
• A minimum 7-10 years experience in working for a mining owner or EPCM contractor at a Project Management level
• Must have strong background in Project Management System Development and the Management of Project Support Teams (i.e. Field Engineering, QA/QC, and Start-up & Commissioning).
• Must have strong experience in the management of contracts and contractor supplied resources
• Ability to read construction specifications and construction drawings
• Strong construction knowledge
• Strong Mining and Mineral Processing knowledge
• Strong sense of integrity, ethics, and desire to positively impact the environment

Responsibilities

• Direct, manage, plan, organize, supervise, review, control and approve all aspects of project
• Direct, supervise, review and control Health and Safety program to ensure the projects complies and support goals on Safety, Health and Environmental
• Review and evaluate the project status reports prepared by Project Controls, such as project cost, schedule, and productivity performance reports to make sure that the project running well and to enable solving the problems as early as possible
• Prepare, review and evaluate project quality control reports to make sure that the project meets specific quality standards and identify and solve quality problems as early as possible
• Prepare, review, evaluate and approve project schedules to ensure that project logic sequence, constructability, resources limitations and other constraints are factored into the schedule and minimize risk of project delay
• Keep good communication and contact with personnel, superiors, other departments, and vendors to enable managing projects smoothly
• Manage, review, evaluate, and approve the preparation of construction procedures and the updates and control and ensure that the procedures are communicated to all construction personnel and implemented on the field
• Develop and maintain risk and issues registers
• Manage the weekly and monthly reporting cycles
• Drive weekly progress and coordination meeting with the project team
• Execute projects in accordance with the agreed Project Management Plan (PMP) and/or Scope of Work
• Other duties may be assigned from time to time as required by the Company

This is a fly-in, fly-out position at the Minto mine site with travel to Whitehorse, YT and charter flight to site every Thursday travel day. Rotation is 2 week on/2 week off.Quick Apply
