We are dedicated to providing employees the tools that allow them to not only continuously elevate the level of service we provide, but also that allow them to advance their careers.About the OpportunityDawson Wallace currently has an opportunity for an enthusiastic Project Manager to join our team in our Lethbridge Branch.As Project Manager, you will report directly to the Director of Operations. You will be the lead and primary contact of the Dawson Wallace construction team with clients, consultants, and subcontractors. The project manager is responsible to plan and coordinate amongst the project team all aspects of the construction project including construction methodology, prime contract management, subcontract management, consultants, estimating, quality control, schedule, cost control, safety, and retains accountability of project’s final success.Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Manage all components of assigned projects (estimates, budget, schedules, procurement, quality and risk)
  • Review job files and become familiar with the original estimate, plans and specifications
  • Construct the project in accordance with design and budget
  • Prepare and update all project documentation including work progress, changes in scope, issues, progress billings, forecasting etc.
  • Prepare, monitor and update project schedules
  • Chair project and site meetings
  • Prepare contracts and negotiate revisions
  • Reporting and reviewing office standards with the Superintendents
  • Report to, support and receive direction from the Principal
  • Approve vendor and sub-payment requests
  • Review WIP reports on a monthly basis to ensure project is progressing on budget
  • Hold closeout meetings to review outstanding items and deficiency list
  • Develop strong client relationships and ensure their expectations are met
More About YouIn order to qualify for this role, you will need at least 5 years of direct experience as a Project Manager in the commercial and industrial construction industry. This experience in combination with a post-secondary or technical trade certification in a construction-related field is required.As our ideal candidate, youll take ownership and responsibility to execute your designated work flow in a prompt and efficient manner by demonstrating excellent leadership ability, communication skills, and enthusiasm.   • Experience of 5+ years working in a Project Management role on commercial, residential, light industrial projects
  • University degree or diploma in engineering or construction related field required
  • Effective leadership, critical thinking, and ability to problem solve
  • Familiarity with various Microsoft Office application, and Bluebeam
  • Must be willing to travel
  • Must be competent in estimating and quantity survey
  • Ability to work closely with Superintendents, Office and Field Staff
  • Must have excellent organizational, presentation and interpersonal skills that are required to manage multiple tasks and people
  • Valid driver’s license and clean abstract
