Job Description

Overview:At KPMG, you’ll join a team of diverse and dedicated problem solvers, connected by a common cause: turning insight into opportunity for clients and communities around the world.The OpportunityKPMG is looking for a Project Manager to join their Transformation Delivery Services team in Calgary. The Project Manager will lead ERP delivery projects across multiple disciplines and.What you will do:

  • Lead ERP delivery projects by working across disciplines and organizations (e.g. client, KPMG, vendors) to coordinate planning, governance and execution activities. This includes some or all of the aspects listed below.
  • Engage with clients to help clarify project definition, e.g. goals, guiding principles, time frame, budget, implementation roadmap, team structure, etc.
  • Advise on choice of project delivery methodology, e.g. agile, hybrid agile, waterfall
  • Develop and maintain project documentation, including project plans, progress status reports, RAID logs, dependencies, resource forecasts, etc. consistent with KPMG program and project management methodologies and tools
  • Monitor task assignments and progress to help ensure they are performed on schedule, and consult with KPMG functional and technical specialists to understand whether and where there may be timeliness and/or quality risks, and to help devise mitigations
  • Implement corrective actions when progress deviates from plan
  • Prepare briefing material on project status and key decisions for stakeholders at executive levels
  • Take an integrative role in multi-project programs, helping to identify and track status of interdependencies between projects, and managing risks and issues escalated from project level and supporting the governance process with decision support materials
  • Help prepare proposals for client engagements, e.g. development of delivery approach, scoping of work, team sizing and effort estimates, implementation plan development, etc.
  • Work alongside the change management team to ensure consistent Stakeholder & Communications Management processes are in place
What you bring to this role:
  • Strong commitment to professional client service excellence
  • Completed undergraduate degree in engineering / information technology or business, with outstanding academic credentials
  • 3-5 year of work experience in roles with project management responsibilities, including 2-3 years experience managing teams of project coordinators or other project managers; experience working in a consulting organization is preferred; PMP, PRINCE2 or similar certifications are an asset
  • Project management experience should include initiatives to implement technology solutions
    • Experiences in implementation projects for enterprise solutions such as SAP, Oracle, Workday, Microsoft Dynamics and ServiceNow are an asses
  • Ability to think strategically by seeing the big picture before doing a deep dive for projects
  • Ability to choose the right methodologies and tools for the various initiatives.
  • Experienced in bringing multiple teams together, providing a structure for organizing their work, and improving coordination and collaboration
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to translate business requirements into solutions
  • Self‑motivated, able to function independently with minimal supervision and able to multitask in a fast‑paced team environment with multiple stakeholder profiles
  • Demonstrated effective communication (both verbal and written), documentation and organizational skills
  • Excellent interpersonal relations and demonstrated ability to work with others effectively in team environments
  • If having worked in a consulting organization previously: prior experience with business development activities and an established network of relevant contacts are assets
