Your Opportunity:The PHI 2 -Community Medical Specialist position is responsible for responding to complaints and referrals for community medical facilities including physician offices, dental clinics, and other regulated health professions. The successful candidate will liaise with health professional Colleges and Medical Officers of Health, participate actively in the provincial SHE Community Medical and Bodies of Deceased Persons committees, and provide expertise and guidance to Zone colleagues in these areas. In addition, they will maintain an inspection district which includes personal services, aquatics, and social care facilities.Description:As a Public Health Inspector II and appointed Executive Officer under the authority of the Public Health Act, you will be responsible for the delivery of a comprehensive environmental public health program. As a Public Health Inspector II, you will have advanced technical expertise in the areas of public health epidemiology, environmental science and engineering, and scientific research. In addition to the duties required for the enforcement of the Public Health Act, you will act as a zone lead responsible for specialized technical advice and services in one or more of the environmental public health service delivery areas on a zone/provincial basis. You will support individual and community wellness through monitoring inspections, disease surveillance, consultation and enforcement of the Public Health Act and regulations.
