As part of the new program supporting the TSVR Act proclaimed in July 2021, Provincial Strategies & Projects, in partnership with the TSV Enforcement Program Director and Environmental Public Health Zone Directors, is seeking applications from qualified individuals looking to challenge themselves in a 1-year temporary role. Successful candidates will be part of an integrated team creating the structures necessary to support a sustainable program for TSVR training and ongoing evaluation. If you have the right combination of experience, interests, and skills, you could find yourself leading or participating in the development of the training program for SHE staff, the adaptation of data management frameworks, coordination of projects, evaluation of program outputs and outcomes, and in-the-field investigations (as needed and appropriate). Although this position reports to the Provincial Strategies and Projects management, the operational oversight of this role will be a matrix that includes PS&P, TSVE, and Zones. As a provincial program, we are open to requests for an alternative location for the right candidate.Description:As a Public Health Inspector II and appointed Executive Officer under the authority of the Public Health Act, you will be responsible for the delivery of a comprehensive environmental public health program. As a Public Health Inspector II, you will have advanced technical expertise in the areas of public health epidemiology, environmental science and engineering, and scientific research. In addition to the duties required for the enforcement of the Public Health Act, you will act as a zone lead responsible for specialized technical advice and services in one or more of the environmental public health service delivery areas on a zone/provincial basis. You will support individual and community wellness through monitoring inspections, disease surveillance, consultation and enforcement of the Public Health Act and regulations.
