Job Description

Matrix is excited to be hiring a Quality Control Technician for longterm projects in the Drumheller/Oyen/Brooks areas.These positions will offer $50 LOA + Hotel to anyone outside these areas.Candidates should be service oriented and proud to represent the clients amazing brand to a growing consumer base.Scope of Work:

  • Testing of concrete to ensure product quality
  • Ensuring a safe work place and maintain safety policies to ensure work safety and the protection of the public
  • Monitoring pours and working with customers on site to ensure product meets required specifications
  • Evaluating material properties for use in concrete production
  • Troubleshooting problems on project sites and at plants, including field investigations
  • Optimizing of concrete production procedures
  • Analyzing and designing concrete mix designs
  • Researching and developing new concrete products
  • Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
  • High School Graduation
  • Completion of Civil Engineering of Technology program preferred
  • Some experience in construction, manufacturing or similar environment an asset
  • Experience in ready-mix concrete is preferred
  • Class 5 Drivers License with clean abstract
Requirements:
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Strong computer skills (MS Office - Word, Excel & Email)
  • Good verbal and written English communication skills
  • Team player with a willingness to learn and attention to detail
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills
  • Must be able to work in outdoor and indoor work environments
  • Must be physically fit and able to work long hours as required
  • Able to perform a variety of tasks, including moderate to heavy lifting
  • Job will be camp based in remote locations
Job Types: Full-time, PermanentSalary: $30.00 per hourSchedule:
  • 10 hour shift
  • 12 hour shift
  • 8 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday
  • Weekend availability
Ability to commute/relocate:
  • Calgary, AB: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
Experience:
  • ready-mix concrete: 2 years (preferred)
  • Construction: 2 years (required)
  • Manufacturing: 2 years (preferred)
  • Concrete/Asphalt: 3 years (required)
Licence/Certification:
  • Class 5 Licence (required)
